This is some of the best stuff I've seen on the Internet on how to counter the shoot. I like that you give different levels of engagement for the shoot and two different types of sprawls and recovery. I learned something from your examples. Thanks!!
Too fast? Solution: If you're using the RU-vid mobile app, click on the video while it's playing, then the wrench round setting icon at the top right, select playback speed, and go to 0.75x
Off course we want the XL weight 100kg because if we practice on that chuck it around we get nice and strong and can beat larger oppnenants........IS THAT NOT OBVIOUS and my friend i think it be a best seller for the Jui jitsu community and be able to stand up on its own
I'm Aarron Ross. I want to learn proper fighting techniques, self defense techniques, so I can have multiple options other than leathel force to defend myself
I got mine prefilled and within less than a month the shoulders are so floppy he can’t stay in turtle anymore… I hesitate to put extra stuffing in but… idk how else to fix it
I’ve refilled my 2.0 about 3 times now and have resigned myself to the fact that the joint areas will always become ‘floppy’ over time as the material separates. This is probably the only flaw in the dummy.
@@bensouthwest Yeah this is super annoying. If I were rich enough I’d buy a Roll Bot no questions asked. Too bad there’s no “low tech” roll bot style dummies out there that don’t need stuffing
I do want to learn grappling someday but I also want to learn striking first. Besides punching bags and similar bags for boxing, Muay Thai, etc. what's the SMARTY for striking (esp if you don't have irl people to spar in your area)?
People need to be aware that poor flexibility can make this roll difficult. I've been a week just hanging upside down trying to get my toes to touch, feels like im going to snap in two, but making progress. Just practicing the roll may not be enough if your body has poor flexibility like mine does
Crazy to think you shut down your school and turned away all your students just so you can make these. You could have found a way to do it without closing the school.. maybe u lost your passion for teaching. Very greedy. I guess that’s what society is making of us all.. all that counts is the dollar
A little tip on how to produce rags efficiently from used clothes. Not an expert but works for me.. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-ROpcrrgV_sc.htmlsi=hxvQmi3KoxcrsIzd
accept the packing slip for mine Cleary said "Pakistan". I've had it for a few months, and i am finally starting to think i have overstuffed it. it won't sit up, and FORGET guard you can do nothing.
Purchasing the grappling smarty was honestly one of the best decisions I made. Really helps me with sharpening, executing, and memorizing my techniques. It’s part of my daily routine now. Kind of difficult to find a real human being to allow you to triangle choke them 10+ over and over again 👍
I'm sadly there now, I've been doing kung fu for many years now and it's not even the implementation of it. I was lucky enough to find a teacher who not only did kung fu but kickboxing as well, so I had no problems implementing it in combat. it was really the culture behind it. for some reason when you look into different styles, my teacher and the students would be very angry at me. not to mention we were close to the culture of NYC Chinatown and if you were not ass kissing or not born in it, the students there would be nothing but rude to me. I was never allowed to speak, never allowed to have a different opinion and it was becoming way too toxic. I was even called a traitor and a loser because I was thinking of moving outside of NYC. I spent many years helping my sifu run the school, help clean, and make sure everyone was safe and well taught but to constantly be disrespected like that was too much. and to be forced to only move how they move is like being forced to read only one book and be called a scholar. I'm not into martial arts to be in a circle jerk group, I'm not into it when a master treats a student like a servant, which my sifu didn't do but the group she would work in would. so I still have a love for art and philosophy. I just want to have the freedom to learn what I feel is best for me and expand my idea of what martial arts is. If I ever teach again I promise myself I'm not gonna be butt hurt when my student wants to learn a different style. I would say yes go read a different book, surpass me and if you have the time, please come back for tea and teach me. no ego, no self-righteousness, just love and passion towards the ways of martial arts. so I don't know what to do now, if I can make the money I would actually love to learn BJJ. but we shall see, the path is a crazy one but thankfully, an interesting one. maybe I'll try RU-vid again or TikTok and make videos about me learning different styles. get my passion going again, get that feeling that kung fu used to give me. the passion of learning and expanding one selfs limits. thank you for reading my rant lmao.
Are you serious. I’ve purchased the unfilled version of the extra large and there was no videos explaining about the poly fill in the shoulders and hips area. I was told to put it in the hands feet and head. I’ve put 60 pounds of shredded material but the shoulders and hips separate the material inside. which then makes the arms and legs lie limp in the joints for the shoulders and hips. There wasn’t any information about pool noodles. I now have to purchase more material and repack it for the third time this product is just a leather version of the canvas version ring to cage, grappling dummy definitely overpriced. Wish you would’ve came out with this information. About three months ago. It would’ve helped me out tremendously.😢
Fantastic! Looking for the similar setup to practice against Standing Passers and respective DLR, Reverse DLR, X, etc. entries. Any Grappling Dummy setups and vids for this?
I've got an XL and the new filling procedure significantly improved my smarties upper body. I think if I were going to do it a third time these are my lessons learned and what improved the upper body. Everything the video says is spot on with the toroso head and joints. No complaints. Much more resilient, flexible and lighter which is actually much more usable without making it feel like it too light (like it doesnt have mass). I used a stuffing tool which was basically a golf club shaft which gave great reach. I cut off the club head, wrapped it in duct tape to get rid of any edges that might tear stuff and the club grip made it really easy to use. For the limbs I would suggest a different type of fabric. I think its nylon or polyester but its the very light synthetic kind of dress material that you see on fancy dresses. I also found thin jersey material to work well. This stuff is super slippery and fills the limbs well. I thought it would not be soft enough but it works great, fills easily and is soft but not bouncy. I made the mistake of trying to use "softer" material in the legs but it never really spreads out well and the legs ended up too stiff and lumpy. Material like terrycloth towels should never be considered for legs and I would avoid it due to weight in the toroso. Material like the fleece wipers seemed to yield a lumpy result and was still harder to push in around the pool noodles even with my tool. It seems like anything cotton is heavier and lumpier than a thin synthetic material. I could really get the slippery material to continue spiraling and wrapping around the noodles which I think is the key to reducing lumps. I found a 3.5" pool noodle to be too thick for the legs and wish I had used the 3" ones I had in reserve. If I could do the legs again I would use the slippery material, 3" pool noodles to help with filling and also with final flexibility around the knees. In addition it might be worth considering polyfill at the knees since it helped so much with the other joints.
is it not bad work way your guys sitting on floor the whole day do this , why they do not work on large table like everywhere production / assembly line work ? thanks
