My husband is selling his 1999 Chevy crew cab ck2500 short bed. It’s not running, a few things to take care of but clean inside and body is great. Just faded from the AZ sun
Those square body pickups were the first generation Chevy & GMC fullsizes to have an optional bigger cab which was the crew cab introduced in 1973. Not to forget 1973 was also the first year for the square body models. Unlike the crew cabs today which are available on half ton models with a short wheel base, back in those days they were only available on three quarter ton & one ton models & all had a long wheel base with the 8ft long fleetside box. Also they didn't come with 4 wheel drive until 1977 which was the first year 4 wheel drive became an option on one ton pickups. The three quarter ton crew cab pickups on the other hand, 4 wheel drive was never available on them. In 1990, the one ton 2 wheel drive crew cab pickup with single rear wheels became the base model on the square body pickups. 1990 was also the first year for optional power side mirrors but were only available on the square body SUVs. The square body half ton pickups were the last generation to only come in plain cabs.
1991 was the last year for the square body models. The only models that became obsolete before that year were the plain cab pickups. The half ton & three quarter ton ones were the first to be finished which was in 1987. Then later in 1989, the one ton ones were also finished. In 1987, the C/K series were dropped & renamed R/V series & the reason for the change was to make a distinction between the square body models & the upcoming next generation C/K series pickups which were the OBSs for the 1988 model year because both of those body designs were gonna be in production at the same time which lasted up through 1991. The one ton plain cab pickups were the only models to come in both body designs at the same time which was from 1988 - 1989.
I’m looking at c2500s and c3500s right now. I’d prefer the 7.4L (I owned a 2002 8.1L before) but there are a few 5.7L 2500s & 3500s in good condition. Are the 5.7Ls really underpowered in the larger chassis?? It’d only be a daily driver and I work from home so not super worried.
I done recorded myself doing this same type of video. Crazy how much this reminded me of how I explain things. Good on ya friend, looking forward to seeing the end result.
Not a Mopar guy but I appreciate them aside from Imperials I really think dusters & demons are decent. Always thought they were like a Nova mated with a Malibu.
I'm more of a Chevy guy myself but the duster was cheap enough so I had to pick it up. No longer have it but it was fun while it lasted. Thanks for watching I appreciate it!
@@sketchydgarage that's cool. I bought a 63 Mercury Meteor for me and my teen son and daughter to work on. It was in great condition but had a lot of little crap to work on. One day I'll get to it. Still trying to figure out what I want to do with it tbh. Has a 260 nothing special that I know of yet.
Did the plastic cap with the needle go on top of the needle/ you called it a pad? If so I’m missing mine and the plastic washer around the needle. My needle is just sitting in there, the spring doesn’t even touch it. Is it possible I just have a different carb? It looks exactly like yours. Thanks for the help
Hey I’m sure you probably found something out by now since it was a year ago you commented but if you’re referring to the needle that sits inside the top diaphragm of your carburetor the plastic cap sits to stop the needle at a certain height, there’s a metal clip that holds it in place which sits in the grooves, there are 5 slots. Top slot = leanest possible bottom slot = richest possible.
I fixed my high idle issue with a new throttle cable. It would stick just like that, it was frayed inside and sticking just enough. Same problem simple fix! Thanks for the video.
I picked up a new carb off Amazon ( Chinese after market) it was a complete waste of money and hasn’t worked no matter what, so I trashed it and slapped on a warrior carb
