Yes the Atlantis is a spectacular microphone! Great mic for Uber$2000. I would love to try that Lewitt with the time and FET circuit as well... From what I can tell on RU-vid, it sounds amazing For under $500, my 1st choice is the Roswell Mini K67x (with the transformer). It doesn't sound like an under $1,000 microphone at all! My second choice is the SE Electronics SE4400 (not the SE4400A!). Great on everything.... Best condenser mic I've ever seen for below $100 is the BaiFei Li C414 (also available on Amazon now as the ProAr 414. Sometimes on sale for as little as $62! I was incredulous.... But after a couple of really good channels gushed about it... I had to try one. It's the first good cheap condenser mic I've ever used! It's absolutely usable... And I like the sound of it. It's has nice mids... It's pretty balanced.... No cheap sounding top end. No exaggerated highs.... It doesn't really sound like an expensive microphone. But it doesn't sound like a sub $200 microphone! I own I own a really good microphone and some other decent ones... And I've used a couple very expensive microphones. It really sounds okay. So if someone is on a very tight budget. It's a good one.
I first heard 'Solsbury Hill' in my local pub, '77, 19 yrs old. 47 yrs and a life full of music of every genre later, this is my favourite song... EVER. I carry this song with me, daily, even unto my final day on this good Earth. It's been my mantra forever. 😊
Came upon this tonight. 😊 Thorough, informative, detailed research on yr part with a confident, sincere presentation puts this doc. up there with anything I've ever seen. A wander through RU-vid takes some delightful turns. Can only thank you for this 👍
Killer riff, prob the all time best. When the intro kicks in, it’s like kick starting a motorbike, that first crack of the snare drum is like the engine engaging and you’re off on a high speed ride, looking for that girl 😎
Cheers Warren and David. Modern Drummer has been my Favorite Magazine since 1986. I have 41 years Drumming and still enjoy Drumming and Production. If You want a PhD in Drums and Drumming just read Modern Drummer for Years. You will get there 😉🥁🪘🎼🎵🎚🎚🎚🎧
I remember buying Modern Drummer all the way back in 99! I remember that is how I knew about Blair Sinta. It is crazy how now I have access to mix some of his work with you Warren! Small music world lol. Hope you are doing well!
So @Producelikeapro; Warren: good tips overall, but a salient question emerges. On tip #10 - Automation; where do you personally define the difference between Mix Moves (including Editing and Automation) and Song Arrangement? They are related fields, but maybe are evolving to become more unified? Much like Mixing and Mastering has leaned toward...🤔
I can here a touch more body and depth on the Urie. And so the Warm feels a touch more crispy. Or shiny. But all so small differences I had to concentrate and honestly sometimes I wonder if I'm even hearing it at all hahahha
You guys are out of your minds! We live in an era where consumer electronics have surpassed even pro audio gear. And you are using obsolete half century gear to mix. What's wrong with you? 😂
would you or anyone recommend an external mic pre for my Antelope Audio Orion Studio Synergy Core? They have great reputation and I'm a little bit afraid of putting a Neve or API in front of it.
And how do you manage to clean the signal of the microphone afterwards? I am pretty shure that some of the music got printed on the performance, right?
I imagine some came in, but the microphone is highly directional, and you have to sing into it closely to be picked up. If a little leaked in, eq and gate would clean it up.
I liked the mixed elements...Seems a lyric about witchery...And tying into those elements, you want to enjoy, the underlying eli seems pleasing...As Jesus mentions nice to the ears and seeming to be feminine...Isn't really a blessing, nor a Glory to God speaking of witchery in words sung...melody was great.. I'll stick to prayer!
Thank you very much Ady. This is the most instructive mixing session I have ever seen, because of all the detailed "why" explainations you provide. "Never show your solo tracks to anybody", anthology
Man thank you for this incredible kind comment!!! I'm very very happy to hear that!! :) Haha I have no secrets because every song will need something else and we all have different perception of music. Instead of creating secrets which might create a hype, I try to educate and take the heat out, so people can use their mind and train their ears without fears and restrictions - at the end mixing is 30% technical and 70% creativity - can't wait to hear what all the people do with the multi tracks!
@@HitTheRoadMusicStudio Hey but you are the man recording in insane situations, I know you, the loop is closed between us now ! ;) Your hair cut misleaded me :P
I had to practice like hell at home to be able to sing with headphones on, and I still can't handle singing into anything that isn't in my hand. I usually track with my Beta57A, but I often wonder if I would get an even better take if I didn't force myself to wear headphones...
And i thought this was just another channel strip.... Before i started watching Andrew Scheps videos.... Of course it's not going to be just another generic channel strip! 😜😎👍
Very cool. I own a Cascade Fat Head II ribbon mic and have to admit hearing it (in a RU-vid vid) in front of a kit alone actually can sound quite good. I was surprised.
I can't work without stereo room and stereo overhead mics. If you have a strong hi hat or cymbal part and that's gonna be in the middle that's going to be extremely confusing. No wonder everyone always wants to debleed their snare track.
Bought this album when I was 18, in college and doing a summer internship with Congressman Tim Wirth on capital hill. There was a girl in the office who was so different from anyone I’d ever met; not punk, not goth but definitely an underground type and she would play this cassette when it was just us in the office and I fell in love with it! The words to the songs were genius as was the music. I became an alternative music lover along with my younger sister and we never looked back. I still have the album. Bought it in a Georgetown, DC record store. Kill to go back in time :)
