I think I've found my new favourite channel, love Scarborough, not been for decades and now physically unable, your videos have made me very happy indeed, keep up the excellent work...❤❤❤
A very pleasant bus top ride along an attractive coastline and hinterland. The houses look really nice and the area is well kept. It's a pity about the loud shouting from other passengers though.
Used to go to Scarborough in the late 60s, to a Butllins type venue. It was organised by NALGO.I do recall that in order to get to the sandy beach, you had to walk downhill through some woods via a purpose built path. Happy memories. Anyone able to share more details of that holiday camp, I'd be grateful...
I remember 50+ years ago there were a lot of Rhodedendrons & other flowering shrubs, flower beds & shelters in this park. There were several tennis courts & putting greens. There were also a couple of blocks of public toilets. Much earlier there was a bandstand in Edwardian days. In more recent years the area has been returned to a more natural state with the removal or decay of these features, so that it can hardly be designated as a Park anymore. My friends & I spent our childhoods playing here on the 'Noggy' as we called it, meaning the North side or North Bay. This & the Castle, & everywhere up to Scalby Beck was our playground, & it often included Peaseholm Park & Scarborough Harbour. Dan Ferguson, now in Selby.
I'm still relatively new to the area so do wonder if more plants will grow over summer. I will revisit at some point and continue further to Marine Drive. Similarly I need to revisit the gardens along Esplanade. They certainly weren't at their best when I last went by in winter.
Great quality video, lovely scenery along the cliff tops of Scalby, brings back memories of Scarborough, in fact all your videos do, how about a open top bus ride, North Bay to the Spa? Thanks
@@PorinaAdventures Good stuff, I've been holidaying in Scarborough for the best part of 70 years, but now with the upsurge of the internet and RU-vid we can keep up to date all year round, there's a few video's of Scarborough, yours's are very good and worth a second look
