Buckeye Community Arts Network (BCAN) is a television network exclusively on Buckeye Broadband that captures local and regional art, culture, humanities-related events, and activities. The sole purpose of BCAN is to represent the artistic expression of NW Ohio through education, performance, and exhibition.
The cultural community of NW Ohio has created the foundation to build the Buckeye Community Arts Network. In return, BCAN will give a place for these artists to call home.
Finally, a video about Johnson's Island that addresses the history of the Civil War cemetery there. I saw one a few days ago where the lady didn't talk about the significance of the cemetery, instead videoing private citizens houses, which is PRIVATE and subject to arrest! Loved this video!
"official" boat launches for anyone who find this video later on wanting to attempt Fort to Port: -Promenade Park (north side) on the St Marys (not far from where they dropped in) -Johnny Appleseed Park on the St Joe. -PFW boat ramp (just up the dam from the Johnny Appleseed - you will need to portage down if heading south to the Maumee. -Kreager Park (a few miles from the confluence on the Maumee, but past the dam - you technically will have started about 2 or 3 miles from the confluence) Others that are further away from the start of the Maumee include the Schoaff Park boat ramp, Maumee Roadside Park, and whatever the drop in is called off of Mayhew Road.
I've recently had a bad experience with an outfit in the UK advertising widely on local radio stations, fundraising. As it happens, I am a veteran, but my troublesome traumas predate my service. When they became an issue as CPTSD, a military therapist helped me drain the reflex reaction, using a generalised model for therapy, so I contacted them to suggest we can do better than simply live with the issues, we can drain them (with one proviso, it doesn't work for someone with aphantasia), and possibly even replace the reflex with a reward. It doesn't touch the memories and fears behind, though, but are we or are we not Vets?
I discovered this station yesterday online, high school students doing this is nice, cause in Alpena, many young people like old music, looking like hippies, I am 63, born in 1961, so I know this music ,we have a commercial oldies station that came on the air last year, playing 50s and 60s as well: WZTK 105.7FM.
I participated in the Civil War rememberance at Greenfield Village in the 1970s. It's such a shame they discontinued it. We can all appreciate and learn from history.
21:22 - I can remember riding to Columbus with friends, one had finished trade school in architecture and I was still mowing lawns to pay my way through college. Every time we passed a property that intrigued us, we looked at it from our perspective.
She was an incredible woman and even so much more to her story. Her great grandmother was a woman named Juliet born 1815, lived in Clarke Co. Va. Ella's father was born a slave in Clarke Co. Va. in 1859 named Henry Hampton Phillips. Juliet's daughter, Harriet Phillips was sold at auction in 1856 to Mary Ann Russell (Everhart) in Clarke Co. Juliet spent 8 years, from 1848 to 1856 fighting for her and her family's freedom. Juliet's lawyer was Richard E. Parker, Jr.. who later became a judge and presided over the 1859 trial of John Brown. It was Ella Phillips (Stewart) who inspired me to write a creative nonfiction called, "Juliet - From Slavery to Inspiration".
I'm wondering if it's possible to canoe up from Farnsworth to Bendview it's looking pretty shallow at weirs rapids but if we could put in at the rapids we might be able to make it. 🤔
Shaun is the worst. He's a little weasel. Digs so hard for a little news story and pretends to care. Such an awkward, cold- hearted individual. 13 should really look into whether he's an asset or liability.
It's not $33 like you said it's actually 34.25. They actually do take care of their men and women, from 1st year apprentices to journeyman. Are you speaking as a member or someone on the outside looking in? If you are speaking as a member you should voice your concerns at our union meeting next month on the first Tuesday. If you are a spectator just speaking openly, then what do you mean? I started my career as an apprentice in the local 55 ironworkers in 2005, as of this year I am a 19 year vet. My wages are good not as high as other trades but they are good my benefits are even better. We have Pension and annuity... top shelf insurance and dental, what ever the insurance don't pick up I have a benny debit card that pays for anything medical. Again I have a Pension with a great amount going in plus an annuity, if I told you what my annuity was standing at it would blow your mind.. I say that because it blows my mind every time I look at it lol. Our house burned down 3 years ago and just by word of mouth I got a call from our president asking if he could meet with me and handed over a very handsome check plus cash from the apprentices.......your comment is lifeless and holds no truth.
Miss Geauga Lake so much, there is nothing but overpriced fun n stuff and skyzone in this area, wish someone would have bought it. We need something here folks besides stores in Aurora.
