For anyone reading this trying to fix their Hisense air conditioner, I just fixed mine. It’s good to clean your filters but that was not why mine was not putting out cold air. Press and hold the power button while it is on. The unit will power off, but continue holding it until you hear a few beeps. Then go to the plug into the wall and press the reset button on it. Turn your machine back on. The cooling compressor will now work ❄️
I tried this but when I press and hold the power button the unit doesn't power off at all, I assume you mean the power button on the unit right? Mine only powers off when I release the button. My issue seems to be the cooling just not starting at all.
@@matthayward1426 I ended having a broken unit, the compressor did not work. My fix made it work for 5 minutes at most. Luckily Hisense has a 2 year warranty. My unit broke after 1 year and 1 month. All I had to do was submit my purchase receipt (got it from my Visa card) and they gave me a new unit where I purchased it from Best Buy. Hope you can get yours replaced within warranty!
When Unit flashed E5 I opened manual to see if it's in *Troubleshooting*. Nothing... about to return it till found your video. Drain the unit and it's operating again! Thanks! Note: should be that error codes be in the manual, so people don't freak out!
Ours will blow air out but it won't cool the air, it will say the temp in our tiny office room is like 78 even when its colder outside, The filters are clean, it has been drained, and there is nothing wrong with it as far as we can tell, it worked one day then the next it wouldn't cool the room below 78.
I bought hisense 2 weeks ago, we have an option to give item back within 14 days! I needed to bring back my tv, setings for hisense were reseting after each tv power off. I couldnt instal twich, so sad! I was hoping to finaly find a good tv!
Why does my AC stop pushing cold air when I set it to cold? Why won’t it constantly do it even if it’s cold inside or outside.. I set it to 61 and when it hits 61 it shuts off completely and gets hot in my room veryfast
It's easy fix the problem with these is the drain set up is junk and the problem is the float gets stuck indicating e5 error or full tank when its not the case so take the back off find the red wire follow it to the float and either try cleaning it or just undo it and let it hang b that fixed it for me has been a great ac 2 years now year round
I don't have any issues after I read the instructions. Keep both caps on. I rarely have to drain, and when I do it's only a cup and usually comes after the weather is humid. Thanks HiSense. I'm happy with mine.
I constantly get the E5 code and constantly drain it. Every second day it happens, so I will drain the unit, then it works again. Then a day or two later, the E5 code returns again and I have to drain it again. What is going on with it? It worked fine for 2 years and now this problem is a constant thing.
Wait. Mine came with a drain hose. How the hell do you connect a drain hose to the port if when you open the port the water dispels? Am I totally missing something?
I'd buy a stand that lifted it up far enough to allow me to use something deeper than a cookie sheet to collect water. My previous portable cooler never had to be drained.
I too live in Colorado but I rarely have to drain it. Mine didn't need draining until I ran it in heater mode which is odd. I think this machine, like anything else, have their own personalities and some just require more attention than others. And please.. try the cookie sheet method. I'm kinda old but can't imagine trying to lift this to the side of a tub.
We have two of these portable units in our house and they both leak water. One is not working currently and it has this pink slime coming out of the drain. What is that?
Purchased: August 2022 - still works GREAT! ru-vid.comUgkxxsUnXhGsSJLim_XnMHyQK0u3XVaW-CGn I live in a studio and during the summer it gets scorching hot - really old building with no ac units. I can’t express how EASY it was to install. This unit has been a life savior during the summer and some days during other seasons where it can still be a bit warm at night. In this small place is my friend, a husky, poodle mix and myself. We need AC - lolI don’t use the dehumidifier option - I’m not sure if it will leak in my house, since I did not install the small draining hose that came with it. May look into it late but I don’t worry about much humidity in the apartment.I don’t understand why the negative reviews since all things mentioned, I personally did not find issues with. Definitely worth it!
