Have been trying to get my drones registered for days. The registration link is dead. Notice of maintenance on 09/29/2024, but nothing to indicate why it’s not working currently.
Enrolled in the Altitude University Part 107 exam course...very helpful and great content...sample exams with additional benefit of explanation of answers to questions; Took Part 107 test today...Passed with 95...very happy with results.
Congrats, that's awesome! What a great score. We are so happy to share in your success and wish you the best in your career as a commercial drone pilot!
@@altitudeuniversity i’ve been trying to get an answer on this and maybe you can. I live really close to an airport close enough that the quadrant I’m in is a zero no fly area if I am in my own property, let’s say in my yard can I still fly in that area? Let’s say no higher than my actual apartment building itself. It’s only a single story so it would be really low and it’s technically on private property or do you think I wouldn’t be allowed to? It would be under 15 feet I know it’s a zero which is no fly butkind of sucks if I can’t even fly in my own backyard to learn the controls.
@@OsitoCraft_3d Thanks for the question. Well, the answer is a clear no. You would be flying illegally without permission. It may seem a bit ridiculous, but technically, you can not fly at all if it is zero. While the property may be private property, the airspace belongs to the federal government. So you will need permission. I have heard of people asking for permission for what you are looking to do and getting approval to fly frequently at low levels, but it depends on what the FAA decides. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news.
Thanks for checking it out! The time actually seems like too much for most students we talk to. Especially if you use a course like ours to prepare for it. Many people can finish the exam in less than an hour. If you are prepared, you fly through the questions. They are nearly identical to what you see in our practice exams.
@@chesleyrenater6158 I'm not sure about the ones other than those that we have in our course. We have five graded exams that are almost identical to what you will see on the exam. They are definitely a good way to build confidence going into the test.
This is a tough one. If you look at where Taylor shows the chart between 2:20 and 2:30 you will see her cursor move over the section above the runway. Since they are heading in the opposite direction, the aircraft is on the right side of the runway or East. Does that help?
i was fly my air 3 in indoor weddi g event.there was lots of helping lights there shutter was 120 fps 60 (180 formula) but i found FLUCTUATION when saw at my pc or also at lcd pls guide what will do for perfect sharp result
Hello, this is a common issue caused by the mismatch between the frame rate and the frequency of the lighting, especially with certain types of lights like LED or fluorescent bulbs. In the U.S., lights often flicker at 60 Hz. Set your frame rate to match the local power frequency. Use a frame rate like 30 FPS. Try shutter speeds like 1/60. Also, there is an anti-flicker setting. Set the ISO to Auto, select the corresponding anti-flicker frequency (60Hz for US). I hope that helps!
Hello unfortunately I am not able to buy any drone insurance since I reside in UAE and I am planning to fly drone in Norway do you have any suggestions please.
Hello, I'm sorry, but I am not sure what insurance is available in Norway. I would see if there are any drone pilots you can find in Norway on social media and see if they have recommendations. I hope that helps!
Hello, and thanks for checking out our content. You will always need to verify the area is clear to fly in, regardless of the type of drone you are flying. As for registration are you flying it as a hobby or commercially?
@@MiggyDLegend Interestingly enough, the FAA considers posting (even when you are not making money) as commercial work. So, you will need to get the drone registered. The good news is it is only $5.
Congrats on passing! Yes, charts and airspace are a big part of the exam. That's one reason our course has several sections on these topics. Congrats again on passing!!!
@@altitudeuniversity thank you!! I was so nervous because I didn't get my score right away. The lady had to log me out of the test and as she was printing my paper I asked and she said I passed. I was so pumped
Hello, thanks for checking out the video. The cost of the FAA test is usually $175 and is paid directly to the testing center. It is a one-time fee. If you do not pass the test, you need to pay $175 each time you take it. Make sure to check out our course in the link. It is &97 and has over a 99% success rate for students passing the exam on their first try.
i have air 3. i was made video at 24mm lens with AUTO ISO..drone was set ISO nearly 1200 automatically who was fine.. when i was make vid from 70mm lens, drone was set ISO 3000 to 3500 then i noted that video was feel BLURRY... "IS IT DUE TO HIGH ISO: Pls advice
Hello, the blurriness you noticed in the video captured with the 70mm lens at ISO 3000-3500 is likely due to the higher ISO setting. If possible, try manually setting the ISO to a lower value to reduce noise and improve image quality. You might need to adjust your exposure settings (like aperture or shutter speed) accordingly.
@@altitudeuniversity yes and did 2 test for 68 my first attempt then got 88 my second attempt, just a personal thing with me just being terrible with test in general. Start to overthink way to much and will forgot things on the spot sometimes
@@chip4526 Sorry to hear that is the case. What are your plans for retaking the exam? If you would like help with some study plan advice feel free to email me at david@sdaltitude.com
i passed today 1st take. got a 77 but I agree the test is hard. i only used kings school practice tests and free tube videos. the test was pretty different. im glad I squeeked by.
@@michaelcanavan00 Some people are able to do that but most benefit from a course like ours. We wish you the best in your career as a commercial drone pilot. Make sure to check out our new content that comes out every Friday!
This is a good point. I have conducted many searches in the desert, and the best time is about 30 minutes to an hour after sunset, when the ground starts to cool rapidly.
Some markets are pretty saturated. It's better in areas like that to offer additional services to carve out a niche for most pilots. Have you tried adding basic mapping services in the area or roof inspections?
Thanks for sharing this, may i suggest for the non-drone owning community that you provide overhead shots of what a thermal and regular camera would look like over a heavily forested area. I have participated in a search for many weeks for a large dog and 2 drones were unable to locate with regular camera. The good news is the dog was found 3 weeks after lost by a professional tracker with motion cameras.
Thanks for the question! With thick vegetation, a thermal camera is just going to show the tops of trees. So, even if the dog was right under the tree, you would most likely only see the tree. I have searched for lots of animals, and when in a heavily forested area, my success rate is close to 10% with a drone. I usually need to do some tracking on the ground to improve the overall chance of finding the lost pet.
Nice video, but you should change the title. I thought the video was about HOW to find a lost pet with a drone, not how to find a pilot. Still a good vid though, thanks!
Thanks for the feedback. In theory, you could, but it would not be easy to do. You would need to be able to take the drone apart and find/build a thermal camera for it. You would be better off looking at a drone with a thermal camera already included.
It is possible however as mentioned not as easy as it sounds. I managed to attach a thermo camera for pet searches also however working out a further upgrade.
@@altitudeuniversity .... I successfully attached the compact seek thermal pro to my old phantom 4 and there is two ways a person could do so for sure. There is a possible third way but that's in experimental phases currently. The best way I like so far connects the gimbal to a custom gimbal bracket that moves exactly with the gimbal . I opted to go with the seek thermal pro with being how light it is and the remarkable distance it covers.
@@altitudeuniversity .... In addition, I would like to offer possible pet locater services and seeking to do roof inspections. In roof inspections more custom electrical work needs to be experimented with though however should be easier.
Thorough video with lots of info. I heard or read somewhere that the FAA has stated the placement of the night time flight anti-collision on the drone is to be on the TOP. Is that still the case, or is that accurate? I see a lot of lights mounted on the front of the legs, yet that doesn't really provide optimal visibility for any potential manned aircraft that may be flying above. Please clarify or explain when you can. Thank you in advance for your time.
The FAA doesn't specify where the lights need to be placed; it just says that anti-collision lights must be visible from at least three statute miles away. Most people mount the light on the top, but the key is to make sure it can be seen from 3 SM away, along with the other guidance they give regarding the lights. And thanks for checking out content out!
I started watching this course a few weeks ago to prepare to take the part 107 exam. I quickly decided (within just a few chapters of starting) that I would like to increase my chances of passing by paying for and completing the full course. SO glad I did!! This morning, I took and passed the 107 exam with a score of 88%. I might have been able to pass by just viewing this partial course, but I know for a fact that the additional notes, quizzes, exams, etc. that I got through the complete course GREATY IMPROVED my confidence. I actually took over 80 pages of notes throughout the course, to which I referred back to many times. I am a poor test taker - bad memory, especially when I get nervous - and for the first time in my life, I was actually looking forward to the test - that's how confident I felt. I HIGHLY recommend anybody preparing for the 107 exam at least follow this free course. I also recommend that they pay to get the additional items - it will greatly increase your knowledge and confidence!! I just can't say enough about how Altitude University prepared me to pass on my first try the Part 107 exam to become a Remote Pilot!!! So glad I don't have to do it again...but if I did, I would definitely come back here!!
Hello, it depends on how you want to use the drone. If you are just flying for fun, not even posting stuff on RU-vid, then you probably do not. If you are flying for commercial purposes in any way, you need to register it. Registration is only $5 for three years, so when in doubt, register.
Thank you so much for showing how to register step by step. I just got my dji minii 4 pro the fly more combo. Do i need to register it? Because I heard that it need to and some poeple say do not need to. Thank you for the video

Hello, we do have a free study guide and all of our RU-vid content is of course free as well with plenty of information for you to begin your studies for the FAA's exam. In addition to this information, our paid course ( www.altitude-university.com/enroll ) is only $97 (about 1/2 what others charge) and includes graded quizzes, flashcards, and five practice exams. Our paid course has helped over 19,000 students pass the exam on the first try :)
Asking for a Like and/or Subscribe is like asking for a tip--there’s a presumption that the delivered content is worthy of the requested gratuity. So asking at the beginning of the presentation assumes I will like what I’m about to see. Really? How would I know if I’m going to like it if I haven’t even seen it? Besides, just asking at all is reason-enough to not-like the video or not-want to subscribe to future offerings. If you’re going to beg for approval; at least wait until I have an opportunity to view the content, then decide if it’s worth-while.
