I started taking effexor afew days ago & actually lost my appetite, where's before i was always hungry, just a viscous circle i suppose that mainly the depression was causing. No other side affects at all. I've tried many other meds for anxiety, depression etc, im hoping this is the one for me.
I take 37.5 mg and have been struggling these first 10 days on the meds. Dizzy, slight heart palpitations and up and down anxiety levels between 3 and 8. How did anyone do the first few weeks?
I wish I would have saw this before I got off the plane today. My doctor prescribed the Xanax. But I was too scared to take it. I feel horrible I was not able to make it to were my grandparents live.
I think people need to learn how to deal with stress without drugs. Drugs have never in the history of time have ever cured anxiety. Its a bandaide thats it. But if doesent last. An ittl leave you wanting more. An it can cause you nuerolocal damage on a short amount of time taking them.

It took me 5 years to finally have the courage to see a professional and be properly diagnosed. Doc prescribed Xanor/Xanax. I just took 1/4 pill, the first 30 minutes was not good maybe because I was overthinking about the side effects. Following hours felt better. Hopefully this will make me enjoy life the way it was. Thank you for sharing this video my dear ❤

Silent Suffering....well said. I need to find a better doctor....it's so hard to find one who will listen and understand the pain of anxiety. It's tough.
I bought a calendar that has space for notes and will use it to track everything. I just started this a few days ago but have been nervous. Thank you for the video. 🙏
I’m 2 minutes in the video I just wanted to say you are a good mother. When I travelled to Jordan alone for the first time my mom had to take Xanax because of the anxiety she had so it shows the love of a mother and now we know for the future that my mom can’t deal with anxiety easily

Venlafaxine is the antidepressant that gives me the most side effects, I've used several. It improved my depression, my PMS but I still feel drowsy, yawning, hands and eyelids shaking and a little ringing in my ears. I was taking 150mg in the morning and 75mg at night, I spoke to the doctor and he said I can take it all in the morning. I don't know if it's because it also acts on noradrenaline. I've been on this dose for 2 months, I hope these side effects improve.
Hi there I take mine at night just as part of my routine. My doctor had said I could take it in the morning or the evening whatever seem to work better and for me taking my medication at night, just always seems to work out better for me
@@allthingsautism7505 Thank you so much for your reply. I've been really struggling now for the last 19 months, my days are up and down, it's a very hard feeling to describe, i feel this heavy feeling in my head and around my eyes, it's hard to concentrate, i'm constantly worrying and feel slow, it's like my thoughts are stuck and just go round and round, then after a week or so i will go back to being normal for a while until the pattern repeats itself, i also get random bouts of brain fog, so annoying ! not sure if you can relate to any of this? I've only ever really taken prozac that didn't do very much, i will ask the Dr if i can try this med to see if it helps, always scared to takes meds. Do you find this medication sedating at all? How many mg did you take? Thx
Never take this drug!!!! It’s highly addictive and has horrific side effects Trying to come off it is was horror story Please get some therapy talk to some one about your problems pray go to church and seek Jesus for help and salvation you will never need these horrific meds The chemical imbalance thing is a lie but if you start the drug then try and come off That’s a chemicals imbalance and you would not wish it on your worst enemy
Hello! Would you say that it's true that autistic people who do like wearing jackets tend to view them as any other clothing item and may wish to leave them on indoors for that reason? I ask because I recently got this windbreaker that I really love and I'm wearing it inside the house despite the fact I'm not cold. I'm 17, turning 18 on May 22, so I know my experiences as an adult woman with autism are different than those from a child (I know this because I was much different when I was younger, but then again isn't that true for everyone?)
Took my first Xanax in 2003… I went on it daily for a few years (only.25 mg) realized I didn’t need it daily. I take it as needed now, when the symptoms start, or when I have to face situations that usually trigger my anxiety. I take Paxil daily, but when I need a Xanax, I take one. I’m also very cautious that I take it for the right reasons!! It’s truly a lifesaver!!!!

I'm a military veteran with PTSD, and anxiety/depression are the major symptoms of PTSD. It is debilitating. I cannot be happy with anything, and I was super scared of starting medication for my mental health. I've seen plenty of guys like me who started medication and let's just say it didn't work out well for them. I was just prescribed Effexor, and I haven't taken it yet. I really related to you when you said you were scared because of family history of addiction, because same. Thanks for this video, I've gotten the courage to at least try it. I've previously tried Mirtazipine and Buspar together, and I felt good but was told that it turned me angry. It was as if my 0 to 100 was a world record.
Hey there good morning thank you so much for your comment and for sharing your own personal struggles I know it could be so scary but I’m hoping that the end result is something that makes your life more enjoyable and manageable. Sending you lots of love thanks again.
It didn't work for me. I have memory problems due to having the side effect of insomnia. At my age i.e. 60s, my doctor would not provide sleeping tablets. I have withdrawn with great difficulty from this drug after 13 years with no review of my medication. So don't take this drug
I take mine at night but my doc has said it can be taken either or. I don’t find it makes me tired but you’ll want to monitor that and any side effects when you start.
I love Lexapro! I started taking it around March 20th with other new mental meds a few weeks ago. My anxiety and depression is better, but I feel maybe I need a stronger dose of Lexapro or a stronger dose of Vistaril for anxiety. I see my psychiatrist soon for more meds. It helps so much! ❤
Hi there thanks for asking . I completely understand your fear. The majority of the comments I get on my videos are from people who have unfortunately experienced negative side effects, and had a hard time when they stopped taking it. I can honestly say for me it’s been a game changer in a great way, and has really helped me find a good balance, I hope you have the same results
I have Type 2 diabetes, and anxiety from it. It’s a very scary disease, and no support out there for people who have it. The emotional side of diabetes is not recognized enough and there needs more done about this. People with type 2 get blamed for there diabetes, by doctors by family members, it’s horrible how were treated, not everyone with type 2 diabetes is over weight. With Type 2 diabetes people are can be skinny to, they carry there fat around there organs. There’s also Lada diabetes, which is heading towards Type 1 diabetes. You need to get your facts right before making your video on diabetes. The stigma around Type 2 is horrible, because of these types of videos. The panceras does not produce enough insulin in Type 2 diabetes, and the insulin doesn’t know where to go. It can be hereditary yes, it can also be caused by certain medications like antidepressants, antipsychotics, because they can cause weight gain. So there’s a risk factor with these medications. Yes diet helps control type 2 diabetes, but what you eat does not cause diabetes. Please be more educated on Type 2 diabetes, it helps to keep the stigma around Type 2 diabetes at bay.
Please know that the withdraw symptoms are debilitating. The moment you try to reduce your dosage, you will get painful brain zaps and doctors don’t know what causes them. It took 1 full year to get off of this medication. It was the most awful withdrawal symptoms that I’ve ever experienced in my life. It will help your anxiety, but it will take away your spirit. It will make you less empathetic over the long term. It will cause people to look at you differently, and it will be the hardest medication to get off of. Also if you’re planning on having kids, it’s considered a class-c medication, therefore you will have to go through extra ultra-sounds to look for fetal heart problems. You’ll be treated differently if you’re on this medication while pregnant and pay more out of pocket. One of the reasons why I wanted to get off of it is because I realized how awful it felt missing ONE dosage. Or reducing the milligram by 15mgs… Let’s just say, if pharmacies go down…. You’ll be on the floor having compulsions for weeks. You will feel imprisoned to this drug. Please be careful.
You don't and didn't have a chemical imbalance. You had life issues that weren't resolved that grew and grew. I know all about effexor and these medicines. They are very, very addictive to your body. The side effects are really nasty.
