Ive been trying to germinate some bahama strongbarks but haven’t had any luck with them sprouting. Any tips? I bought 100 seeds online. Maybe bad seeds. We have them here in the Keys but I can’t find one 😂
Hey there, sorry for the late response. Seagrapes can be a little tempermental😅. You can try mixing in some sand with the soil and give them some attention and patience and I'm sure you eventually have some luck!
@@bradsbahamaecotrip3552 Yes Lewis Yard Primary School closed at the original location and is now located in the old St. Vincent De Paul Catholic School in Hunters. It is a long way from the school that I met in 1969 when we were all in the same one building: grade one through six.
I seen some pathces of forest in the North Eastern part of New Providence that looked very lush and tropical. Near the bridge leading to Atlantis. What kind of coppice would you consider them? The rest of the Bahamas look very dry excpet this area I am talking about
Most pines (like most conifers in the world) are usually found in cold or cool climates like mountains or the taiga. It’s really interesting to see pines growing in a humid tropical climate
Will Seagrape grow in central Florida around Lake Placid Florida? the lot is very sandy soil there. I have seen no Seagrape trees anywhere around here, yet way out west of Miami where the soil is not nearly as sandy I have a bunch growing on my lot. I want to build a natural fence using seagrape clippings and let them entangle in wire as they grow.
Thank you for your concern we survived but some of our most treasured ecosystems were completely devastated. We are down but not out though, more content on the way soon!
