I am Billy Gilbert, a lifelong boater and boat enthusiast. I grew up on the water in the Florida Keys and now specialize in new and select brokerage Yacht Sales in the Pacific Northwest for Silver Seas Yachts, in Seattle and Anacortes Washington.
NOTE: While the joystick is being used you do NOT have access to the steering wheel... you get it back once you disengage the joystick or engage the throttle controls.
The boat comes standard with canvas bow cover and individual cockpit furniture covers. It is also offered with an optional tonneau cover from Cruisers. In the case of this boat, which has since sold, we also had a custom set of stratoglass enclosures built to provide full weather protection and ease of use.
Yes, we are now the dealer for the West Coast US (Silver Seas Yachts), as well as Skipper Buds in the Midwest, and Marine Max for the remainder of the US.
Im a big fan of the Galleon boats, but this one looked cheap and was poorly laid out( to be fair, a well laud out boat is kind of a unicorn). But they cant all be winners.
I am curious what you thought was poorly laid out. i have never heard that in any of half dozen vids on this boat. I Can't imagine disagreeing more with that assesment. This is the unicorn that is bigger on the inside then on the outside. It is far and away the best layout in its segment imo. You realize this is a 56 ft boat?
Galeon is a very nice Yacht. What size engines? V transmission I am sure. Is there a crew quarters or garage? What is the most efficient speed and what is the fuel burn rate in Gallons per hour at that speed and the range for that speed. Also what size is the Generator and what is the fuel burn rate when running on average per hour? Thank you.
Thanks for the questions, apologies for the delay in response. The 500 Fly comes standard with Volvo Penta D11 670HP diesel inboards with a V-drive that will push her to 30 knots. Most efficient speed is 21.5 knots at 43GPH at 235NM range. Very little difference in overall efficiency between that and wide open though, so you could cruise 25 knots likely still at recommended loads for the powerplant and lose minimal range.15KW genset, no specific burn rate on hand but should be around .7 GPH at 50% load in general for the size.
Thanks! I wish I could do 20 min full walkthroughs on everything during the boat show. Once I have a Galeon in stock locally I can really dig into something more detailed! Thanks for commenting and I am glad you enjoyed.
Boat is nice but I don't understand why any BBQ would be near any seating. Especially a white seating area. Realistically have the engineers ever used a grill and experience grease splatter and smoke? Hot burning grease making pin holes in the white fabric. I seen plenty of smaller yachts place that BBQ near the swim platform. That left the cockpit area with loads of room.
Yes, January 14th to be specific, high was 54 degrees and was a beautiful clear day. Lake does not freeze in Seattle nor does one have to haul for winter as long as you have power and a heat source to prevent damage from occasional freezing temps overnight.
The yacht on display was pre-sold, so the layout ad finishes chosen reflects what the owner of that boat desired to have built. Definitely arguments to be made for going with the on deck master I agree.
$982k is the MSRP on this boat. Get in touch if you are located on the west coast and interested in making a purchase to discuss a current sales price. 206.508.4458 Thanks
