Welcome to my channel. On my channel I will show videos of rides and vacations I take on my motorcycle to also reviews and tech related stuff and apps. I ride a 2023 BMW R1300GS
Thank you bedankt voor de information, what is de function of the simkaart ? Is that for use without phone connection ? Is the navigator good als Google maps with update traffic information. How about sending Eifel tour trips to the navigator. May be more practical information in a next video. Stay and drive safe
Yes that is to use it without a phone connection. The traffic update is good. Not as google but for me ok. It works as follow. You download a gpx file. You open it with the app on your phone en once it is loaded on your phone you can see (starting up the navigator) at your navigator. So with a sim you cam also sync your tours
@@bikegeist thnx 👍🏻👍🏻 the short One I bought to Connect my phone to my bike. Both cables i bought at. sharge.com/products/sharge-phantom-usb-c-to-usb-c-cable-240w-fast-charging-samsung-galaxy-huawei-xiaomi-4ft-tpe
There is a 3D print model for the cardio to fit in the "communication preparation" spot. The camera can be mounted upside down, allowing you to operate the vents and stuff on the front of the helmet more easily.
@@ginoasci2876I had a 2021 K1600B when my s1000 was in for service. The max I was able to get out of it was 130 mph. Apparently a remap really opens this bike up though.
Shoei & Arai helmets are the best fitting, highest quality fit & finish. Their paint also best in the business. Find the ones that fit you best. Shoei is a predominantly medium oval product and my choice.
I don’t have enough room in my helmet for de Wireless Receiver. So my Action 4 is mounted on my helmet, de mic 2 (transmitter) Connected with Bluetooth in my jacket en the lavier mic in my helmet. I will make a picture.
@@SandyToesDetecting The X3 and a different brand of bluetooth doesn't work wel. I have tried but de sound wasn't good. I used the receiver (connected tot the X3) and then the transmitter. That's better but on a bike a bit of a fuzz :)
Thank you. I was able to stream music through Nav vI to my Schuberth helmet. if I want to go to another bluetooth source on my BMW bike do I go back and select bluetooth. Thanks Bob
Why not just use your cellphone? Most modern smartphones are waterproof and have a GPS function. Just sayin'... These darn things are upwards of 1000 USD, way too much money in my opinion.
@@adammfharrisdoesn't matter even without cellphone signal it will still work as long as you don't deviate from your route. If you program it in prior to it will store your route. Happens to me all the time, I live in a very rural area.

this issue here is music but i also very annoying . My contacts dont appear in my V GPS. Justa appear a part of them. Half. Diz this happens to someone?? Thank you
Ron
Thanks for making this comparison. You mentioned something about connecting an action camera? Why would one want to do that and are there any differences when in off line mode or when in motion?
If you have a Virb - this is a very useful function, as pressing the on/off on the camera is tricky while riding. At least it is on the GoPro - not sure about the Virb?
So it's based on the zumo 590 and bike information function doesn't work on the K & RT... I might as well stick with my cheaper and more feature rich 595.
I have K1600 GTL 2018 paired with BMW communication system and IPhone 7 and BMW Navigator VI and it's impossible to use de media player ! Very frustrating ! BMW advertise is false !
hello, thanks for the video! I do have another question: when I go to media player on the gps, it says I have to connect it to an A2DP bluetooth headset to listen to music! It is connected to the bmw helmet so I don't understand what the problem is.. Thanks in advance! Tanguy
I have also an issue with this navigator: indeed downloading music takes a long time and also, my play, forward and backward button do not work! This is really annoying, has anyone the same issue? BMW doesn't seem to know this error.
Just reset the Navigator, and seems to work again. Another thing: my Navigator messes up my Music folders which are neatly organised in iCloud. So, navigating through music is not as you'd want it from this kind of device. Please let me know if someone has the same issue.
Hi Pascal. Can you please confirm that the Navigator VI is able to play the Spotify music on your iPhone? How can you browse through the playlists of Spotify with the Navigator VI?
I have confirmed this with Garmin, if you have an R 1200 RT or 1600 GT(L), actually, any bike with a sound system and computer, the media player is disabled when mounted in the bike. Garmin states this was done in accordance with BMW's instructions. There is also a really nice function called "MY BIKE" which gives you a treasure trove of information such as engine temp, tire pressure, etc. ALSO disabled on "computer" bikes! I ride a R 1200 RT and got the VI because all this didn't work on the V and the advertising indicated it would work on the VI, not so much!
Same for me. Just bought a K1600 GT and traded in my Navigator V for the V1 so that I can control Spotify on the Navigator and not have to rummage around in my tank bag for my phone to pause, stop, change tracks etc. When in the mount I can't access the media player but get the message "use the motorcycle radio to access music". It only appears to be bikes with factory fitted music system and gps preparation that are unable to access the Navigator's Media Player. Not happy about this.
Yep. Has been like that 'forever' on my Nav V. Was actually thinking about switching to the Nav VI so that I can dump SiriusXM, but doesn't appear to be an option there either. Stupid stupid move BMW...
I've just sent this to Garmin. I'll let you know the outcome. I've never used You Tube as a forum before but someone please let me know if it isn't appropriate. Dear Alex, Thanks for your email but unfortunately you have not addressed the point of my enquiry. I am not attempting to make comments or suggestions regarding a Garmin product but attempting to seek your help and advice about why my Navigator V1 does not work in the manner it is advertised. For example BMW’s website in connection to the Navigator V1 states “Music to your ears When it comes to music for your trips, you're your own DJ. Thanks to Bluetooth technology and our new "Music Streaming" feature, you can listen to the tracks saved on your smartphone. Become your own film director, controlling compatible "Action Cams" directly from your navigator.” The page goes on to state, “New feature: music streaming via smartphone • Enables you to listen to music saved on a smartphone via the Navigator VI • Music playback via smartphone is started and stopped via Navigator VI • Playback of tracks with Android smartphones in the sequence on the smartphone, with iOS playback of smartphone playlists is also possible” The page also specifies which bikes will give you all the new features advertised. Namely: “Navigation preparation ex works for the K 1600 GT, K 1600 GTL, K 1600 GTL Exclusive, R 1200 GS (from 2013), R 1200 GS Adventure (from 2014), R 1200 RT (from 2014), R 1200 R (from 2015), R 1200 RS (from 2015), S 1000 XR, more models to follow.” My motorcycle is a 2017 K 1600GT and included in the list above. I therefore fully expected that I would be able to use the Media Player to stream music from my smartphone when attached to my bike. My enquiry is quite clear. Why am I not able to use my Navigator V1 fitted to my 2017 BMW K1600 GT to stream music from my smartphone in the manner described in the advertisement for the Navigator V1? Regards David Smyth
I haven't tried MP3's either. I have some strange behavior with mine and was wondering if others see the same thing. When I first start the GPS it takes at least 5 minutes before I am able to receive traffic, temperature, or weather info. During this same time I am unable to stream music. The menus seem to be non responsive. Then the minute that I start to get the temperature and other data the media player is also able to start streaming music, but when I click the browse button, I am supposed to see menu options but instead I get a popup that says please wait while data id downloaded from your Apple Device, but the menus never appear and I continue to get the same popup again when I click browse no matter how long I wait. Other than that, the increased readability of the screen is remarkable.
When you press the Browse button to navigate through your music on iPhone, how long did it take to download the music files? My keeps saying "Downloading..." and nothing is happening. Thanks
same mistake for me! i get a look every where on the @net, but i don't find any answer for now!!! and the Garmin custom assist doesn't fonction ( sorry for my poor english)
Pascal, can you confirm if the Navigator VI supports both GPS an Glonass ? From Garmin's announcement: "this new navigator introduces a new GPS and Glonass receiver that allows it to spot additional satellites at any given time" @ www.garmin.com/en-US/blog/automotive/announcementbmw/
Pascal - do you know if it is possible to import saved "favorite" places from the Nav V to the new Nav VI? Or use a backup function to backup favorites from the V and restore on the VI?
