Hello! Thank you so much for taking the time to make these videos. I have a really important question though, I can 't seem to fin ANY NATURAL SEALER in Europe. I live in Brussels, Belgium, and after days and days of research, I tought about asking you. Would youhave an idea? Thank you in advance for your time. Best regards, JB
Thanks for watching! Earth Safe Finishes ships worldwide...I would highly recommend checking them out. earthsafefinishes.com?sca_ref=3941704.Q2zd7GzGk2
I’m still enjoying making some unique concrete candle jars. However, I only sell them on my website and a local specialty store here in Texas. They’re a lot of time and work to produce, but I’m retired…what else do I have to do 😂 ? I enjoy your channel. Wish you would upload more often. Love the idea of putting the labels on the boxes rather than the candle jar!
Hi there, so sorry for the late reply. Here is the link for the matte varnish: earthsafefinishes.com/products/varnish-no-voc-matte?sca_ref=3941704.Q2zd7GzGk2
I save all my plastic containers and use blue foam sheets to make concrete molds. It's funny because I just poured two lamp bases using Calafia coconut milk jugs. If you cut the jugs in half you can use both the top and the bottom for cool different molds. Once the concrete is really dry I just cut the plastic away.
I am sorry about your doggy! Gorgeous candles too! It's neat you got to meet the ToAuto folks. I just got their wax melter (First one) and wow it's so easy. Love that! Cause I was nervous about it at first. Just gotta work on routine and how to place it on my desk.
The candles are beautiful 🥰 also I buy wick tabs and when I trim my wicks I save them and tab them with my husbands wire crimper ( now mine )😅 so that way I save on wicks 😊 I really enjoyed this video and bless your patience 🤣 but I do find your videos very calming & relaxing , thank you 😊
Do you have an idea of how much a finished tabletop fire pit costs once you get the stainless cup and based upon the cost of the concrete? Also, I didn't see a link for extra stainless steel cups.
So how did you like this Wax? And what wick type did you end up using if you dont mind me asking. Im using Pure Palm Paraffin from Makesy but its kinda pricey & mix with the SP487 but like you said, i want just 1 wax not 2 waxes. If you ended liking this wax, i will most likley place my order today cause i truly trust what you say
I actually really like this wax! However, I am blending it now (which defeats the whole purpose of testing it in the first place lol)! Right after I put up this video, it was revealed that this wax actually contains 50% paraffin, not a small amount like originally stated. Since I had a case of the 51104, and still had a case of coconut 83, I decided to blend the two to knock down the paraffin content in the 51104, and I actually am in love with this blend. More so than my original blend of coconut 83 and SP 487. I do think it’s a wonderful wax on its own if the paraffin content being that high doesn’t bother you. I personally don’t mind it, but I know some of my customers do so I wanted to keep that in mind.
That is a beautiful tribute, I love the special message and the love you had for your dog! I do also have a question, how did you manage to cut out those label on cricut? Mine is giving me issues.
Hi, just watched your video, it is really beneficial, thank you. Was about to order the Coco Olive wax for super high price from abroad but put that off. I like working with Coco Apricot, just thought Coco Olive would be better. If you do not mind me asking, which blend do you use? The only downside of Coco Apricot is very weak cold throw, so I was thinking try mixing with your blend. Thank you
You did not include at all the cost of your work doing them, all the processes, all that time, all that energy. They are not free. You did not include the water washing your molds. The instruments you use to prepare the cement. The electricity if you need light in your working space… Should I continue? $0,70 is not a real cost if you only take in consideration those you mentioned…
@Calafia Candle Co. Hi there! I'm just starting with room sprays-do you still suggest this base from Midwest, or do you use Hive & Honey's now? Trying to decide which base to go with thanks!
So sorry for the late reply here! I have switched to hive & honey’s base now and love it more. The fragrance is strong in it and there’s no residue left behind.
@@calafiacandleco Thank You! Unrelated to the body spray-do you have advice on any other wax melter to try for coconut wax? I have 2 of the ToAutos....(both 6L size) using one for c55 melts and the other for coco apricot.....both of them are getting up the 212 but once I get the wax in my pitcher to add the fragrance oil its already down to like 185.....I don't know what to do =( If I should keep using them and test to see if it's really affecting the quality or if I should just get different melters that can get hotter. I was hoping they would get up to 220 like yours but no dice! Have you had luck with other melter brands that maybe get hotter?
@@lizamackey7661 Oh dang! With any melter, it's going to cool off quite a bit once it is added to the pitcher. You could try adding the fragrance oil directly to the pitcher first, zeroing out the scale, and then adding the wax. Or you could heat gun the pitcher a bit before adding the wax. My old one is really the only one that I've used and had luck with. It's just a good ol' presto pot that my husband drilled a hole in for the spout.
@@calafiacandleco Thanks! Yes-I am trying all the tricks and even doing those I am able to get the fragrance it right at 200 but still goes down to 185 or lower before I even pour-and Im going fast! lol....I may try an old presto pot or maybe the one from Hive Honey... The thought of going back to the hot plate kills me but I did have better heat! Thanks again =)
I’ve started testing the Midwest room spray & body mist base. Even after letting them both sit for 2 weeks all I smell is the base in both ? I used 5% fragrance load. How can I fix this? Thanks
I'm glade to see someone on you tube using wax from VCS. I have been using and testing there hemp, coco, soy with a small amount of food grade paraffin in it. I like it very much. It has a good cold and hot throw. It also does well in melts mixed with CBG. CBD. and CBG oils. I started making the melts mixed with those oils for my sister but have had others want them. Good luck and God bless.
I am applying to a ResinCrete vessel today. I applied to the inside only with a sponge brush. I don’t see any brush strokes or water spots. I will apply 3 coats and wait 24 hours to cure before I pour wax. I will see how it goes.
