Well, I wasn't really thrilled by the sounds I heard here! Apart from 3 or 4 patches but these are only sound fx, so very easy to do, otherwise I find the sounds of this synth extremely kitsch, cheap and synthetic, not at all realistic at all! It looks like old vst presets from the 2000s haha. But then I don't know him at all, I'm discovering there, I don't know his specs either, I'm simply giving my opinion on what I hear there! But I don't doubt its interest despite everything, like any synth :) But the ad didn't work for me haha Musically
@@juhunet how are u feeling about tube manatee after having spent some time with it? Can it Juno? :)I don’t have any analog polys and am tempted by super 6, trigon, or the manatee
@@TwinCitiesOxygen What I really like about the Manatee are the exotic synthesis models. From Fourier synthesis to spectral synthesis, it offers a wide range of sound design options. I'm currently working on a "One Synth-One Song" project. It will be on this channel from October at the latest.
Something about the resonant filter sound isn't speaking to me, although maybe it could be mitigated with settings or the onboard EQ, all the rest of it sounds frankly really cool
@@celtislam It sounds the way you want it to sound. The Manatee can play up to 16 voices and can play with MPE. And there's a lot more to it. I've only scratched the surface so far.
@@DJ-Lazy-Lodger Because of RU-vid's post-processing, you might not hear it clearly. But the transients can be edited and made more audible. It's the little details that make it all interesting.
Thanks for the demos! The Manatee is a very special synth. At the moment I am trying very hard to understand all this spectral synthesis stuff and how to work with it.
Sounds interesting! I enjoyed this video! There's alot of new stuff out there that really doesn't interest me but this instrument grabbed my interest right away!
Sehr experimentierfreudig… Das macht Kunst aus… bleib auf jeden Fall am Ball. Eine kleine künstliche Eingebung , in schriftlicher Form. Wäre oder kann hilfreich sein.😉
Really cool, bravo! I'm thinking of getting one of these, but I'm quite new to programming synths (though I have a lot of music knowledge) and I'm concerned it'll be too complex, given how deep this synth is and menu-divey. How was your experience learning the Blo'?
Thank you for your compliment. It helped me that I have been researching sounds with my modular system for a long time. Then operating the Blofeld seems very logical. And he can always surprise you. An excellent synthesizer with a very good price-performance ratio. Waldorf instruments are really well made.
If you already understand the basic structure and signal flow of subtractive synthesis its not that complicated. The mod matrix can be kind of a pain, but it is also insanely powerful and absolutely worth it. The blofeld is hands down the best sounding best equipped digital synth on the market for less than $500 its a no brainer. It is the only digital hardware synth at that price point that can match modern soft synths in terms of capability.
The song was created quite quickly in an afternoon. A few tracks were put together and supplemented with some reverb from my mixer. The Little Nunomo Qun is practical because you can save your own presets. No other MIDI devices were used here - although this would also be possible in principle.
Congrats! These are the best cinematic sounds I heard from a DM12 so far. I got mine half a year ago, and I am happy with it. But although I know how to operate synths like this, I still struggle to make my sounds "cinematic". Thanks for those wonderful examples!
Spooky. Nice patch if you made it. I usually cheat and use the scales but you can definitely do more Avant garde stuff. It sounds like you have multiple patterns of different steps playing?
This little synthesizer is full of surprises. The developer maintains the firmware very regularly and the device keeps getting better and more features.
@@juhunet man I went on this mission after my mother died and had some inheritance.. I have tried nearly every groovebox/workstation/sequencer thing and they all sucked it's better to have a few seperates big or small.. you have the best value for money set up and the most mobile. I kinda wish I stuck to that route sometimes but it guess i would eventually get too limiting. Ended up with Waldorf Blofeld, pyramid squarp, sp404mkii.. and the amount of control vs any "all in one", it's like I have the same functionality of a daw, granted it's not the best for transporting! U have the "lite" version, modular over all in one any day!
@@zonochromatica Thank you. That's a cool tip. I've probably been thinking for a year whether a Bastl Kastle will take me further. I also think the Drum Kastle is very good. But I can also do such sounds well with my Eurorack system. I also have the Microgranny from Bastl - I also like to use it very much.
@@juhunet I think the kastle would fit right in, how do you find that the TAPE plays with other instruments? It seems limiting when it only has an audio out, I was hoping you could use it as a sequencer or bitbeat inputted noise
