I don't dance, won't dance, can't make me, but I could watch Jewell McGowan dance for hours on end. I first got turned on to her in 1955 when I was in the 7th Grade, and we were watching 'Buck Privates' starring Abbot & Costello. A & C were all right, but I was watching HER.❤
In the Navy was released after Buck Privates, but was actually filmed after Hold That Ghost. Buck Privates was so successful, that Universal decided to capitalize on the military comedy genre, rushing In the Navy into production. It after In the Navy was released that Hold That Ghost, probably A&C best work, was released.
I love how the lady in green has the biggest smile the whole time and she seems genuinely happy and she's clearly having fun I also love how the green pair were so energetic and were smiles the whole way through
"In The Navy" was filmed & released in 1941. Surprising that Dean & Jewel weren't more prominently featured after their previous stint during the sisters' "Bounce Me Brother With A Solid Four" in Universal's "Buck Privates" just months earlier. As for the trio, this was probably the best song/dance number (after "Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy") that they ever committed to film - their harmony & their moves are fantastic! Thanks for posting in such good video/audio quality.
They are 100% dancing the Collegiate Shag in the movie “It’s a Wonderful Life” during the scene where the floor opens up to reveal the swimming pool. I never knew it until watching this video but it’s just so unmistakably the same dance. They use the exact same moves in the movie. Cool.
@@pythonesse it was a TickTock mash up that I saw on RU-vid and I saw the username and went to look up their type of dance and dance competition called Lindy and found a couple of videos I’ll link it as soon as I find it might take me a few days to find that particular TT mash up
