I've had a 2004 225 Coupe for 16 years now, and seriously thought (and hoped) it would be the last car I own. However, two issues in the past six months are very concerning, because they foretell a difficult future. First, I needed to replace three hoses running from the radiator and then all of a sudden an interior door pull came off. The hoses became an issue, because they are no longer available from authentic Audi suppliers. I eventually found them through a European supplier, but the shipping was 2-3 times the price of the hoses. Eventually found the needed hoses used on eBay, although I was worried the entire time, about whether or not these would work. The door pull was actually just two screw-ins, if all went well. Which of course it didn't, because after removing the door panel, it was obvious that the plastic clips holding the panel in place had deteriorated through age, and would cost over $400 for a decent version (e.g. no broken clips), and this panel is also no longer supplied by Audi. I fear that someday far too soon, something else will break, and this time no amount of superglue will effect the repair and eBay won't come to the rescue. I swear I saw a very rough Mk TT on eBay with almost 400,000 miles, and priced so low I gave some thought to buying it as Parts Car.
I know the video is old now but I’ve just bought a TTS. If you think the cup holder is bad in the DSG, try driving a manual one with a drink in there 😂
I've a 190 bhp 2 wheel drive TT mk1. I've had it 8 yrs now . I dont usually hang on to cars this long but I love this one . Black on black she looks good drives great .gives me no bother so that's why it cost very little from a dealer when I got it .I'd say dont dismiss them they are great.
Do you have a link to the installation video for this? I've tried to find where you've connected the blue wire from the dashpod around the engine bay but can't find that video. Thanks.
I have a 2005 in black 🖤 Audi tt. Had it for almost 2 years. Really good car.The first thing is the shape of the mark one 😊it's absolutely gorgeous. My daughter who is 21 has one in light blue , again absolutely stunning cars 😊😊
You already chaving it up with rip speed blue lights 😂😂 keep it o em or go get another normal Tt and chav that up. Makes me weep hey it’s a Quattro sport and then you spoil it 👎
I have a Audi TT 180 2wd....I got it because it was $500, and I love the thing. Because no one wanted it, it was dirt cheap. and I live in California, $500 for a car is almost unheard of now-a-days.
I want the 225 because its illigal to modify or tune your car in my country, all you can do is basicaly chage wheels, paint collor, and tint window behind the B pillar, police can fine you for just changing your radio from a 1 DIN to a 2 Din radio or screen, I've also seen people taking fines for having a turbo boost gauge, changing their steering wheel etc, also the dual exhaust looks way better, and if you can't even chage you radio or get a tune, don't even think in your exhaust, heck you can't even get a sport air filter.
Just picked mine up last week already put a battery in it and needs a fuel pump next then i can look into checking other stuff hopefully as well this was always one of my favorite cars made by audi
Really good video. I actually own a 225 but one of things which annoy me is the turbo lag.. My Ford KA which I also own actually feels more nippy from 0 - 30mph lol (around small roads and town) because there is no turbo on it. Obviously once the road opens up my TT is like a jet fighter with the way it can accelerate through the gears, especially as it has been chipped to 265bhp! I'm also one of the people who may of looked down on the poor 180's but now that I know they have less turbo lag, are cheaper on insurance and are cheaper to run as well as being more sort after as there as fewer of them definitely puts them in a positive light for me. I'd consider buying one if I was looking for another TT 👍
180 is always a good choice if you're not a power freak... Me... I'm a TTS owner and like the acceleration when I feel the need..... the need for speed! :)
I have a 2001 225 Quattro, paid £12,000 for it, so yes the prices are going up. (Low milage, like new, with all the factory extras). 100% standard as from the factory.
I want to put this on my Tt mk1 150, do u still recommend. I was told after a while the check engine light comes on, is this the case with urs? If so how do get around that. Thanks in advance
im keeping my mk1 225. love the car would like to do some more mods but its 20 years old 90k mileage still like brand new but i dont want to continue to put miles on it so i drive a honda as a daily beater but i want something newer and modern but dont want to spend anything crazy i dont know what to get. a mk3 tts or a mk7.5 golf r is what im thinking. but i want something thats not a money pit my mk1 tt has costs me tens of thousands to keep properly maintained and serviced and fixing it but thats what you get with a 20 year old car if you want to properly take care of it and not neglect it. the money i put into my mk1 i could have paid for a golf r by now lol
i had to replace my 225 front bumper so i found a califorinia 3.2v6 car and took the front bumper and put it onto my 225 looks really nice as my stage 1 225 is faster and more power then a 3.2 naturually aspirated. but the rest of my car is aftermarket looks nice ottinger 19inch rims
