It's one of not the favorite of the Vanderbilt mansions. Its probably one of the most simple and less ornate. Its in a beautiful setting as well. It almost has an urban vibe with its severity. My favorite will always be the house in Manhattan , the petite chateau of Consuelo Vanderbilt.
First off, "I'm straight", I used to enjoy working as a massage therapist and reflexologist near the pool next to the hotel at Cherry Grove, during the 90's... All the festivities that went on there were absolutely great. Very upbeat.. especially when the drag queens came in on their own ferry with the music "It's raining men" ... There is way more to see about Cherry Grove than just the boardwalk.. the deer being friendly is definitely for real.. they will walk along with you, you can pet them. they just want food... I believe, there's a whole lot more that could have been shown in this video about Cherry Grove,.. " It has a very relaxing atmosphere" ... People who visit or live there are "real" and very friendly and nice.... If you take the Long Island railroad to the sayville station, you can walk to the Fire Island Ferries.. "Have Fun"😊
Thank you for your comment, sincere with a coherent critique. I like the music because it sounds tropical from the 70’s/80’s. Anyway, I see your point and I actually agree with you. It’s not very representative. Taking the chance, can we play something? If you could tell me a song you like, we can duplicate RU-vid and play your song while we watching the video. Nice to know an expression in U.K. I love music in general, so from now on. whenever a hear a music that beat my heart, that happens usually few times a week, I will say chooooon. It pronounces shoooon.

A beautiful area of the Hudson Valley. I graduated from Marist just down the street in '95 but went inside the mansion for the first time last week. It is quite the house and property. And to think that this was just a house for them to get a way to. Lots of great info on this place.
Absolutely stunning! Great video work, perfect music, a true delight for the sense. Many believe this may have been a Saint's home; leftover from the millennial reign ... prior to their occupation. Some elements, like the guardhouses, fences, etc, were later added.
Architecture was so grand back in the day and for one of the wealthiest families in America, this specific house isn't THAT outrageous - it is livable in scale and size :)
Most of the furnishings are 19th century copies of 17th & 18th century French antiques. I loved seeing the original furnishings arranged as they would have been during the American Gilded Age. Wonderful!

I must make plans, July 4th is near. You know, If I can share. I normally go down south, South Padte Island for Splash, I've about a dozen times, and usually a lone traveler. Because what one gay man decides, it's done, when you throw two, three queens, it becomes a fucking nightmare. Mornings: Where do you want have breakfast, Oh, I don't know says one hungover queen, the other, bring me back something, just no eggs. Like, bitches, your ass is staying here, find your own breakfast bitches. Hence, travel alone. lol. Fire Island sounds fabulous
