mixed reviews... I have only ever heard rave reviews for this excursion or the Sawyer Glacier in Tracy Arm similar excursion. (I booked it for a second time for my cruise next year, it was THE BEST excursion on my first AK cruise 10 years ago.)
Great and informative video! We are FINALLY going on our Disney Alaska cruise after a couple of years of delays due to the pandemic. But finally, this May will be it! Again, thank you for the great video!
We saw an amazing calving event and white thunder from the wonder. We were considerably closer than what your cruise got. I really want to do this excursion for sure
I loved this !! The tour was great and so was the narration. Also, thank you so much for showing the map, it was very helpful ! Make more videos like this one please !
Of those three places, I've only lived in Cambridge. All three seem lovely and I've enjoyed visiting York and Herfordshire, but Cambridge absolutely has my heart. I want to live here forever!
We didn't get a photo with Mickey outside on the deck at the glacier, though he was still there when our boat pulled in. (Theoretically, we had the chance to dash up to the top deck to try and catch him, but getting a photo before his short shift ended was unlikely). That said, we had plenty of opportunities to take photos with Mickey and Minnie in their Alaskan gear inside the ship and on deck at other times. For us personally, the glacier trip was our preference, especially since character visits on deck were never guaranteed opportunities, especially if it rained.
You say that you cannot experience the “white thunder” on board the Disney wonder, but I sailed in June of 2019 and we heard (shockingly loud, it really is like thunder), and could see the glacier calving from the ship. I’m sure it’s nowhere near the same as it is aboard the glacier explorer, but you can see it.
Great video! Little confused of the Alaska itineraries do you see more ice glaciers in an inside passage one or the one where you leave and come back from a difference cruise port? Thanks in advance!
It depends on your itinerary! But as a general rule, cruises that leave and return to different ports often stop in Glacier Bay, and - as the name suggests - you'll probably see far more glaciers if you travel on an itinerary that stops at Glacier Bay National Park.
Thank you so much for the info! I’ve been trying to find information about this excursion and like you said, there was practically little to none when it came to this. I appreciate it so much because I was going back and forth on this decision. Awesome video and very informative! Planning on going the end of May next year so thank you thank you thank you for your vlog!
