I have been doing crochet since 2009 after my mom passed away I had this overwhelming feeling I had to carry on where she left off. Although I am nowhere near the caliber she was I am trying my hardest to live up to her standards. My mom could make anything and I really believe that she is living through me because it was like I went form zero to a hundred when it came to crochet. I couldn't do a chain let alone make anything. I had to get my niece to explain it to me (my mom taught her because at the time I had no interest). I couldn't for the life of me understand the concept of a granny square. And of course, your beautiful eyes are the icing on every cake!!👏 I’m really looking forward to seeing your Latte Cake Yarn Cardi and which pattern you decide to do it in!! I’ve just used the Bernat Blanket Mystical yarn to make a medium sized pumpkin and just finishing a very large pumpkin pillow for my grandson. I was concerned about parts of the yarn having that gritty feel too but once it was crochet, it somehow lost all of those gritty parts!!🙃☺️ It completely changed to very squishy softness!! My godson loved his medium pumpkin, saying it was so squishy and soft!! That’s why I decided to use the yarn again for my grandson’s pumpkin because he has lots of sensitivities to any rough textures. It’s that soft!! It wasn’t supposed to be as big as it is - I got carried away when chaining and doing the first number of rows!🤪Got distracted or something? Didn’t want to frog it back so it will be a large, very soft, squishy pumpkin pillow that I know he will love!🥰 I didn’t have a problem with it gliding on my Clover hook but weirdly, I did on my fingers. It wanted to be stickish on my fingers. Once my fingers were warmed up, a bit more flexible then I could find the right tension and improve my speed for a bit. Definitely couldn’t be distracted. I considered it worth it though, for how soft and squishy it ended up being. I might use it again, depending on the project. I’ll be interested to hear how you find it? Oh wow! The mermaid is gorgeous & the eyes are everything... as is the tiara & the cute top!! I'm sure Jennifer will love her! Good choice too with the skin colour! I think the Jennifer mermaid is perfect! She is a princess! I love the eyes. The skin color is great, since Jennifer loves being outdoors, getting a tan in the pool. 💜💜💜💜

Been on vacation for my 50th birthday.. and surviving through this latest hurricane on Wednesday/Thursday…Milton 😟 We are good.
