Why do you have your TC RH450 (or RH750 on a shelf)? That's one of the sweetest bass amps made in the past 30 years! I own two RH450s (for reasons).

Can you do a video on Neosoul bass grooves/rhythms? I know you’re supposed to lay back behind the beat, but what are some basic go to shapes, rhythms/grooves, and progressions I can use to get myself started learning this style?

I’m trying to finally fulfil my old dream of playing the bass and I’ve honestly fallen head over heels for the Marcus Miller V7, now I just need to find all the other suff I’ll need (I’ve only had acoustic guitars up until now and I’m mostly self taught)
@The_official_c

You’ve got this! You can get by with most things with the HX stomp as a stand alone pedal. I prefer practicing through a small amp but honestly if I’m tight for space/weight and travelling then the hx stomp is all I NEED

It's lovely seeing Matt at the beginning. I went and saw Louis in Brisbane this year and three of my teenage grandson's came with me because they wanted to be part of my bucket list. By the the time the gig had finished they were all Louis and they absolutely loved the boys and the music. So big thanks to the boys for holding Louis high it's much appreciated. This was a great interview 💙💙💙💙

Reason 3 isn't Sire's fault! I currently have 2, 2nd gen V7 and P7. I've owned a 1st gen V7 and an M3. They retired my Fender MIJ Jazz from gigging. Had that from new (1992). That's now strung with flats and on and used for recording.

@The_official_c
@The_official_c 3 месяца назад
In all honesty this video is so old I’m not sure! I’ve personally not found string brands to be MASSIVELY different in tone and regularly move around between strings. Never had issues with dunlops, d’addarios, Ernie ball or even bass centre. I’ve ran rotosounds too. I like the sound but they are a little grabby texture wise when playing so I tend to avoid those now. But in general I go with a medium gauge round wound , 45 to 130 and ride the tone control to suit my technique and genre of the material

@@The_official_c Which one do you prefer, the sound from Fender or Sire? How about the neck or playability, Bro, in your opinion? I've been following your videos, cool stuff!!
@The_official_c
@The_official_c 5 месяцев назад
@@dededindrathank you so much 🙏🏾 I’ll be honest, if I’m just picking up to play or practice I’ll probably pick up the Sire. Having said that I’ve also realised that for whatever reason I prefer maple necks. The fender here feels more solid and chunky if that makes sense. I think this particular my fender sounds fatter in the mids/sits just right in the mix in a live setting but I prefer the direct tone from the Sire. That’s not to say the Sire sounds not good, but I tend to get most compliments on sound from crew and sound engineers in particular when I’m on this fender
@dededindra
@dededindra 5 месяцев назад
@@The_official_c got it. This is a tough choice! I really love the sound of the Sire V7 and V8 too, they sound incredibly cool. Right! But like you said in another video, when you use a more "branded" gear like a Fender, people can be like "wow," you know what I mean hahahaha
@The_official_c
@The_official_c 5 месяцев назад
@@dededindra yeah man, I mean that one comment was more of you had to buy one bass, that might stack against you but these days I think Sire is pretty well established as a great instrument full stop so I’d go with whichever one inspires you most to play 🙌🏾👊🏾

Two batteries you say well have you ever heard of headroom in the world 🌎 you live in because headroom is what makes it better and hotter than having one battery in your bass guitar. I suggest you check and do your research before making people see that your not to bright and knowledgeable about things you speak 🗣 on

3 years after you released this and I think the reputation thing is even less an issue. They are standing the test of time and releasing new models all the time. Thanks for the vid! How is the weight of the instrument btw compared to say, a Fender active Jazz V?
@The_official_c

Agreed! the Sires are killer basses man. If I'm being honest I didn't notice a difference in weight, but I was also never looking for it. I've always played relatively heavy basses.

Thanks a lot for sharing your thoughts, there is a lot of hype on these bass's and it's good to hear what the downside is from someone that has routinely played one. I play both lead and bass, one area I would respectfully sort of agree but also disagree with you is the perceived stigma of Sire being a budget brand - Personally I would not make any negative judgements on a bass player turning up to an audition with this bass (if you are working with musicians that judge you on your bass rather than your bass playing it's time to find another band😀) Thanks for sharing your thoughts, I have a V7 on order and I'm looking forward to playing it

Bro i have a question why do a lot of performers prefer bass guitars that don't have the full number of frets. Like yours is missing 2 frets
@The_official_c
@The_official_c 6 месяцев назад
Good question, I’ll speak for myself. When it came to choosing a bass, 24 frets wasn’t a priority as I spend most of my time below the 12th fret. It’s not that I don’t want 24, it’s just that that wasn’t as high up on my list. For me a jazz bass sound works for me and those are the basses I end up playing the most. Hope that helps 🙌🏾

I was actually thinking chord tones with chromatic approaches, which from my understanding is essentially how the bebop scale became a thing anyway when they wanted more chromatic approaches So that’s probably what you were hearing, along, with the little melodic, minor touches
