The only time I can say Selena can sing. Totally live, not autotune, right notes, switching between registers almost flawlessly... I get it, in her shows she has to dance, but on the performances where she is standing still? Wha happened to her?
honestly? lupus… it affected her confidence, her body, her mind, in a way that isn’t gonna come back easily. in this clip she was so chill, she was good, no disease yet, no treatment, all in place. now, she takes so many meds that sometimes she gets dizzy just from being up, she gets out of breath easily so it affects her singing, her hands shake a lot too… it’s really sad
Just watched the short of this. You act embarrassed, but totally nail the notes. Very raw, it really was great hearing your voice in such a spontaneous situation. Don't know what to say. Really loved it. What happens when Selena plays in someone else's sandbox? (Reference to Quentin Tarrentino, obscure). Well ok, all sorts of thoughts are running through my head. Not sure if I should verbalize them. Being the pro that you are, you took control of the situation.
This is how real singing should sound this isn't breathy and it's in pitch. Who ever was her vocal coach here she needs to rehire. This technique worked with her. It's controlled airflow that gets you to sound really good. Then you add certain styles later to shape your sound. My background: 2 years of studying Bel Canto 3-4 hours a day. She's even talking better if you guys haven't noticed that. A lot of stuff comes out in your speaking voice especially the way you control your air.
