Thank you! It does sound a bit better through proper speakers. But, I admit I don't put as much into the overall sound of my guitar or general audio quality of the video as I should... I will try to tweak it a little because I do notice it's a little thin
Thank you! I really should put more tabs on these videos, but sometimes when improving the best I can do is tab out the main idea that the lick comes from. I will try to get a video with a similar lick out with some tabs for you.
Thank you so much! My goal definetly seems to be to always play something melodic. Been working hard on maintaining melodies and incorporating heavy use of double stops. I saw this clip and it made me feel like I am def making progress.
For starting you definetly don't want to go the cheapest option because they play like garbage and you dont' want to think it is you rather than a cheap guitar. I would recommend the 200-300$ range to make sure you get something fairly decent and stick to the well known brands.
Why don't more people play kesel guitars they are made by the son of who made carvin guitars and blues on a fan fret custom is cool to see I play metal drop C and drop B on 6 string and B standard and A flat on 7 string so I see guitars like those offen but not blues/ funk, love the strandberg in the back i think maybe another kesel? Do you sherd or chug and metal with those?
Just got this Kiesel less than a month ago. Diggn it so far. I try to jam a little on all kinds of music, but I have a seven string Strandberg in the background if I need to play metal but typical not my forte.
Wow, thank you!! Was great playing with you too. Keepin that solid groove and rollin with the jam makes it easier to play. Definetely makes all the difference!
I plan to eventually make videos on approaches to improvising. This is almost entirely minor pentatonic believe it or not. This vid needs all 5 position so you can move across the neck fluently. The beginning is just string skipping 2 notes per string in the pentatonic framework. You just gotta know the right tonal framework and be able to execute it the moment it becomes tonally viable. Def takes time but worth it.
@@Solo-Sculptor got you. I guess it’s the thing skipping I need to get down more than anything. Also the fluidity of the playing is insane that’s the main thing I really wanna get down
@@bandolierboy1908 I appreciate the question! There are a few key things I would recommend developing but it all takes time ofcourse. It can vary based on what you may know already. Others have asked for lessons and I am open to trying to get skype lessons going for I think $30 an hour is fair if someone is interested. But initially knowing the Major scale and how it derives the 7 primary chords is key theory knowledge. Then the 3 inversions of Major and Minor Triads which will unlock how to move across the neck. Also learning the notes on the neck to eliminate thought time on where you need get to and plug in the right chord/scale.
First off, thank you so much. I am in the Chicagoland area. I woud love to give lessons, but it seems people not online are not interested in learning despite my eagerness to help share the things that finally helped me overcome common issues guitar players encounter that prevent them from getting better.
@@Solo-Sculptor yeah you've got real talent. Most people cannot play that consistently with precision and feeling to a metronome. 👍I live in Sweden, a bit far away, also in different time zones. Would you consider a skype lesson? I have a fair bit of experience, but I have somewhat reached a plateau, and I am interested in a fresh perspective and some new excercises or techniques.
I would be very open to give something like that a try! Any thoughts on the details? Such as time scheduling and cost? My initial instinct, having worked at a music store that charged $30 a half hour, I would be comfortable starting my journey in lessons at a $30 donation for a whole hour skype lesson. Please let me know your thoughts on how you think we can make this happen.
Thanks! First know what key to play in and have alot of experience with different phrasing habits. Pretty much know what tonal frame work to apply, have it down under your fingers and serve the music. Easier said than done, but knowing your scale patterns and then knowing when and how to apply them. Def takes some time. This was almost wholly the blues pentatonic scale believe it or not.
@@Solo-SculptorI believe it. I think I'm impressed by your phrasing most of all. For faster lines, like the descending lick you played here, would you say that you first learned licks from other guitarists before attempting to improvise lines like that or did you just grind on backing tracks until you could express yourself and play fluidly over them?
