isnt rigid more like when something is tough,not necessarily hard(english isnt my native language)?

Indeed "Rigid" convey a sense of being inflexible or stiff rather than just "hard." It might not be the best choice for a simple substitution of "very hard." A better way would be "solid". Thank you!
