“I love him, he hates me” pretty much sums up all of our favorite reptiles 😂 it does make it more rewarding with the ones that do tolerate handling and love.

Do you give your female geckos the liquid calcuim straight or mix some with pangea and then put in the syringe? Planning on buying some so just curious.

Buy an ARU, they are far better for handling. Of course they are also harder to raise when young because they are too calm to nip. But much sweeter.

Good to see that yours are a little twitchy as well. I thought mine were a little weird in that regard. Mine are also shy eaters, I've been putting them in an empty small deli cup with a pinkie overnight. It's usually gone in the morning.

Great episode! European here right the reptile hobby is some what at a low because of high energy prices alot of people are getting out. Also what I've noticed all the people working with the rare oddball stuff are older and seem to be slowly disappearing while the younger crowd works with cresties, balls, corns and hognoses. Thats why I am currently trying to collect as many asian ratsnakes and other odd ball colubrids as possible at the moment.

I got my anery sun kissed female from eric and I love her so much she's thriving eates every meal and is growing so well. She has never struck or bitten me. And it just seems like she gets more colorful with every shed. When I got her she was grey and black. But now she's more lavender, yellow, and has these pink undertones

Nice video; interesting, and from my point of view, accurate as much of the same applies to the much better known sister species, G. oxycephalum. There seem to be very few presentations on this other species of Gonyosoma, which of course, is much less commonly seen in the trade and/or established in captivity. We (I) encountered this species occasionally over the course of two field seasons spanning over 4 months on the island of Buton, Indonesia. Buton is weakly separated by 1-2 kilometer wide channels from SE Sulawesi. Buton still has large areas of forest, and is about the size of Rhode Island, US. G. janseni observed on Buton were predominantly yellow, with black tails and broad streaks of black on most of the rest of the body; very colorful, vivid markings in the adults/sub-adults. The one juvenile snake seen, (turned up in a desk drawer of the village infirmary, scaring the heck out of Dr. Uwe...!) presumed to be young of the year individual, (approx. 50cms length) still retained a large % of green coloration. All were very alert, defensively responsive snakes, "posturing up", while tracking every movement anywhere near them, ready to strike. It was really a privilege to see them. Buton has a rich herpetofauna.

At the time he was in one of the large neodeshas (I dont remember the dimensions off the top of my head) but was bumped up to something that was roughly 5x2x3, it was an odd size pvc set up I found locally.

OK, I'm so used to seeing him out and climbing around, it makes me nervous when I don't see him for a while. I have zen habitats pvc 4x2x2 and a plexiglass on top of 3/4 of it and still have trouble keeping humidity up. I spray morning and evening. I appreciate your help and quick replies! Thanks 😊

Ok, that's the same way I feed my other snakes. These guys are sensitive so I want to do this right! I've been taking him out for about 5 minutes once a week to get him used to me. He's good but still a little flighty long green bean. Thanks again!

New question: I got my boy Jan 6th, he ate on the 8th and 21st. He hasn't gone into shed yet. He's about 2 ft long and green, but still young and slim. How often should I feed and how often do they shed?
