I just picked up a 280Z myself. Would you be willing to share a build sheet of everything you did?bim trying to figure out how to modernize everything.
As many has mentioned, there is absolutely no need to remove the intake (unless you need to do the gasket wich always is a good idea). You need a double extention for the front bolt and a double extention plus a U-joint for the back bolt going in from between the throttle body and the dipstick. Actually, if you remove the idle air control valve, wich is a good idea anyhow, you can just use a small ratchet directly from underneath the intake, no need for going in from above the intake. Important is to lift the box straight up to not damage the tube going down through the pan, it helps to remove connectors to temp sensors etc to make room. Well worth doing this regularly, easier and cheaper than doing RMS.
Well then, that's a completely useless video! C'mon guys! I was hoping on some Volvo specific tips on how to remove a later (91-93) style 240 windshield without ruining the trim strip around it, but you guys went and cut that too (where do you even get that if you need a new one?). OH and to answer the other question on here about the 87 windshield, you kinda cant really get the old style trim any more. Even when people replace any 140-240 winsdhield, they use the flush mount 91-93 style anyway. Hm, i might just have to make my own video about how to do it more carefully. You really need that wire tool from harbor freight that has the saw/poker thing that you use to find a place (usually near the bottom corners) where you can sneak it in, then you cut the glue (not sure if it's butyl or urethane glue) it goes so much easier with the saw tool
wieso schmeißt du die verpackten Teile so auf die Seite bitte, so als würdest du die teile wegwerfen, das paßt nicht zum Basteln, das behandelt man anders finde ich.
Great video! I noticed that the last bolt is a bit easier from the other side of the manifold. I just did mine. I didn't think I could until I came across your video.
What year is this 240? There were two models of flame trap. The older one had a short, straight tube instead of the slightly longer one with a curve. Please provide a little more information so that I don't order the wrong part/s.
I believe I have the same problem. I was worried that my actual boot was rusting, good to know it’s likely just the hardware! Thanks for the really helpful video :)
