This song is part of my "go to sleep" music collection that I often play at night as I am drifting off to sleep. Thinking about the cosmos and the wind.
Being mid-peak and hearing this immediately after Oh Comely made you have 20 panic attacks all at once is an amazing experience. It's calming to the fragile ego. I don't think I heard the lyrics before then either, and definitely not anything they might have meant.
Probably the triangle shirtwaist company fire where a bunch of women were working in a factory that got set on fire. The stairs were blocked and rather than burn to death most of them jumped off of the roof to their deaths.
Saw them play live twice. The first time they were playing live for Good Morning America. Incredible music from Minneapolis that probably freaked out most of the audience that morning. I am still surprised that they were even asked to play that program, the musical director must have been pretty hip. Very cool show, even though it was very short.
That's guitar solo is fucking amazing, almost as good as the Brian James original. Better than good ol' Captains and that's saying something. Looking back this was not a shabby line up at all. Not o this earth was better than the last offering ...
