I am on the Eastern Coast where we always went to all of the Warrior games, the best draws were when the Warrriors and the New Yory Bombers played in Philly, the New York Chiefs did come to philly but not a lot everyone hated Bob woodbeery and Sandy Dunn, Judy Arnold and Sandy Dunn had a match race and I know it was scripted but Dunn went to kick Arnold but Arnold went to move and Dunn kicked her in the face which drew blood and Arnold freaked and went after Dunn, that was a real fight. Good old days!
If I recall correctly, the second half of the Roller Stars game (featuring the New York Braves) disappeared after Don Drewry loaned the master tape to somebody. All these years later, I hope the missing second half was finally recovered.
The guy in the coffin, I cannot believe he was able to not laugh during the skit. Talk about staying in character. This is one of the better Calhoun Tubbs skits. "In Living Color" was what was going on the the glorious 1990's. Good times!
Never liked the Chiefs, especially when they played at home. Didn't make a ton of friends rooting against them but who cared. I thought by 1973 Weston was a Pioneer, but it seemed like everyone switched teams constantly
This is Roller Derby not BS flat track crap that they are trying to pass off as Roller Derby. How can you save the game when they are changing the rules. They made an exciting game lame.
"Wrote a song 'bout it? Wanna hear?" There was some great skit-comedy in those decades, all powered by the talent. I still can't watch David Alan Grier without handin' him an old Harmony Guitar and a bottleslide. "Fatback loved his catfish..."
