Hey. Thanks for watching the video and thanks for your comment. I will include location for my future videos. This video was recorded in the Sugarland area southwest of Houston Texas
Thank you so much for the video you took. One small suggestion, if you encounter an error in the fsd beta processing, you should report it to Tesla through the car screen marker, such as 7:36, 8:50. This can better help fsd beta grow. Thanks again.
Hey Thanks for checking out the video and thanks for your comment. Sometime when recoding and talking it gets a bit busy and I sometime forget to report. In these cases I will go back and do the drive again and make sure I report the issue correctly. As FSD testers we also have an e-mail option for reporting that I am using when appropriate, We can actually see that reported issues get addressed which is very cool.
Sweet ride! You mentioned your previous Model S had issues with the 12V battery, especially in hot climates. I'm in Hong Kong and have not (yet) experienced problems with the 12V battery. Can you explain further please? Or do you have a video about this issue? Thanks. I have some videos too (if interested).
Nice, car! I'm waiting for my LR and it is probably 1yr left untill delivery... I agree with you regarding Plaid vs LR, also I have heard that the LR feels lighter and not as heavy in i.e. corners. Probably due to only two motors.
Thanks for the video. We're in the same condition. I just got a new Model S and FSD Beta v10.8 too. This is my first Tesla though and my first time getting the Beta software. Yes, Christmas was good for me this year! It is really nice to be able to just watch to make sure that the software doesn't make any mistakes and let the car take me places.
@@techviking8011 ohh, Im Norwegian. What made you move to the UK and then to US? my sister got tired of boring Norway and moved to UK. I personally want to move to US or Philippines.
@@nonconsensualopinion LOL, I thought he was on 10.8. No wonder why there is fake news everywhere, people barely read half the title and run with a story xD
At least according to the release notes I dont think it will improve the slow turns. It is saying it will fix how slowly it creeps out when visibility is low. Ghost objects fix is only for merge behaviors so it most likely going to look ahead to see if it can merge? Not really sure exactly.
Hey. Thanks for checking out the video and for your feedback. I agree that it is hard to to say how the new release will change things. But I am hopeful. One if the reasons for making this video was to go over scenarios that might be improved on in 10.8. I will do another one as soon as I get 10.8 to compare. But I am optimistic as the release note comments are quite close to addressing the issues that I am seeing... I also hope that this is the case as fixing this would make the system extremely more useful to my everyday driving.
Can you comment on the differences in driving experience between the LR S and the 3 and the Y? Not interested in the power and speed as much as the ride quality and sound levels. Not a fan of the sound inside of my 3 (or the Y's I've tested) over potholes and expansion joints or broken pavement. Would love to have a dual casted LR S with 4680's.
Hey. Thanks for checking out my videos. Good question about the MS vs the 3. My initial feeling is that the ride quality is much better and the MS is really quiet. But I have not been able to drive the MS much yet so it is hard to say. My 3 LR was a very early build from early 2018 and it was very noisy inside especially in the back. The new S is very different. But I also think the 3's have also improved a lot since the 2018 3s. I agree with you on a dual cast LR S with 4680s. That is probably a couple of years out. So will look at that next time. The amazing thing with the Tesla's is how well they hold value so I can trade them at 2-3 years and lot loose out a lot and even sometime make a profit. A cybertruck which will have the 4680s and the new FSD computer / cameras is also an interesting idea..... I think all Teslas will all be 4680s soon and that we will get a 30% range increase with that which will be cool. I am taking the MS to Florida for a 2000 mile road trip for Christmas so will have more details on how it feels after that. I hope I can put out some videos during the trip.
@@techviking8011 Thanks for the reply! My Model 3 is a 4/19 build. I recently test drove a Y and a 3 back to back and took my 3 over the same route right after that. I was looking for a "holy shit these cars are so much better than my 3" reaction. I didn't get it. I would say my 3 was better than either the 3 or Y I drove. I've also done a lot to try to keep my 3 as quiet as possible. I've adjusted all 4 windows which really helped with wind noise. I also stuffed as much foam as I could under the back seat (that really seemed to make a difference) and in the back quarter over the wheel arch areas. One other question if I may? I've driven several loaner S. I never wished I had an S after driving them. Due to the lower headliner I actually felt more camped in the S over the 3, and the 3 felt more connected to the road and nimble, if that makes sense. But the S would be a better car for long trips. I've heard someone say the new S is much more Model 3 feeling in a good way. Any truth to that form your POV? If the CT does not fit the bill I think a LR S will be my next Tesla. I had P90D loaner that was unlocked. That thing was scary fast. I cannot imagine needing a Plaid. Thanks! Looking forward to a trip video.
Hey thanks for checking out the video and your comment. Yes the slow creeping is a really painful issue that prevent me to use the system around the local streets. A fix would make the system so much more useful. It seems like they skipped 10.7 and are jumping straight to 10.8 tomorrow. Fingers crossed
It would be helpful to have your camera mounted a little lower so we could see a better view out the front windshield - right now, your mirror blocks our view too much - for example, check out any of Rocco Speranza's videos or Iowa Tesla Guy's videos as examples of a better placement for your camera - the adjustment you need to make is not very much, but that small adjustment will make your videos much easier on the eyes!
Hey. Thanks for checking out the video's. I agree and I am looking for a better mount to lower the camera. Targeting next video for this. Thanks for the feedback
7:56 difficult to say. It might be that it can see part of the line in between the light and dark videos ahead of you. Notice the render of the line is approximately the portion which can be seen by the cameras between the vehicles. If it was all mapped out you'd think that the lines for the other turn directions (or just more of the currently drawn line) would be visible. Then as the car moves forward the rest of the line is rendered along with the lines in the other directions. I'm starting to think it might just be vision. If not vision entirely, it might just extrapolate where a line might be based on mapping data of the intersection lanes. Does anyone know if any mapping services are actively mapping lines on intersection roads? Either way, fantastic videos and I can't wait to see 10.6! Drive safely!
Regardless if it is a "Sunday Morning", YOU should be coming to a full stop at stop signs like FSD does. (in 2 instances you 1) came to a "California Stop" and 2) in another didn't stop at all.) Not sure how you got a score to be able to use FSD Beta.
I just received FSD beta earlier this week and have taken a few rides on rural roads. It is overall working well with a few areas to improve. I get frequent unnecessary braking and find it is most likely to become confused at intersections (makes sense). I encountered dense fog yesterday morning and it slowed down a bit and handled it with no issues. I think another 6-12 months or so to have it working extremely well most of the time.
Yeah, I would have goofed that one up too. Seems like bad cone placement. I'd expect another line of cones on the left to divide your lane from oncoming traffic.
Hey. Thanks for checking out the video and for the feedback. And yes I think I need to upgrade my setup with a dedicated microphone. Next one will be better
Hey and thanks for subscribing and for checking out the video. Great to hear from another Viking. I am 100% Norwegian but have been in the US for a long time so I am working on becoming an American too.. Torkelsen sounds very Norwegian indeed. Where in Norway does you dad come from ?. South of Stavanger here.
Hey. Thanks a lot for watching the video and for your nice comment. And yes I think it is incredibly exiting to be a part of this. Solving vision for self Driving applications opens up almost infinite opportunities for Vision / AI based on camera input. And yes with Dojo I think they will really get there. Dojo + next gen computer in the car plus upgraded cameras will bring true Super human driving performance across the board I think. And I am really happy to be able to be a part of this.
6:13 i think it is slowing down for crosswalk, i.e. potential problems with detecting pedestrian at night, otherwise if pedestrian was detected it would be forced to apply emergency breaking.
Hey. Thanks for you comment and for watching the video. I agree with your comment and this is an interesting scenario to test in a future video. I will try it again at day time and also test it for other crosswalks.
Would have liked to see what it would have done on a couple of these where you bailed so I could see what it would have done.....assuming that it was safe.
I did not see anything in the visualization and there was no sign of turning or braking so I think they are not picking up birds yet... The system is detecting dogs I have heard. I hope they will use these data sets to also include bird detection and avoidance in future versions.
Hey Adam. Thanks a lot. I did not notice this and yes it was stuck on the small visuals due a low pressure warning I think. I have the large visuals up and running now ready for some epic 10.3 videos soon I hope
Enjoyed seeing a fellow Houstonian drive around Sugarland/Riverstone. I'm there frequently since I have a B-I-L who lives in Lake Olympia. Congrats receiving FSD 10.2. My 2018 M3LR only has EAP and that's really all I need. Be safe.
Hey. Thanks for your note. Lake Olympia is just on the other side of Highway 6 from me. Yesterday 10.2 messed up the Lake Olympia Highway 6 junction so I had to go south. I am into this sort of stuff and very happy to have 10.2 but yes the system is still very much in beta and it take some effort and attention to test it. From the other videos on RU-vid it seems to work better in California so I hope mine and others testing here will over time make it work better in Texas too. Please let me know if there are any particular roads/scenarios you want to me to check out.
