SOHO Motorsports was established in 2011 by brothers Nik and George Sohoritis. They started their performance automotive business in Charlotte, North Carolina, after each worked in various automotive performance industries in the region. With ASE-certification, NASCAR engineering and growing up in their father’s repair shop, their combined knowledge and experience has allowed them to grow into one of the premier tuning shops in the region.
Currently, SOHO Motorsports specializes in the Nissan and Infiniti VQ35DE, VQ35HR, VQ37VHR and VR30DDTT platforms. The shop offers services ranging from routine maintenance, performance bolt-on projects, tuning across various platforms, custom fabrication, to “turn-key” high performance vehicles and engine builds. The company has now grown to eleven people with over 25 years of experience and has a solution to almost any challenge.
Ugh. My 14’ Q50s has 65k on it. I want to do this so bad. I need to do this. I can’t sell the car because I love it so much. Almost got a M4, a m340 and a m3 and just couldn’t do it.
And I see an add on option for a 4 bar map sensor, I’m not tuned by ecutek so is it something i still need? I’ll be dyno tuning my z locally after I order this kit over the winter
I’m a little puzzled on a DE car needing an ECU after 500 hp. I always thought something around near 700 would def need an ECU for better control and tuning. But I would think the stock ECU would be sufficient enough for say 550 wheel, what are the drawbacks of using a stock ECU for over that 500 make vs a standalone/aftemarkeg ECU? Also for a DE at what power should you consider fuel return and/or meth injection. Thanks in advance.
Once you get at or above that level, engine safeties are a must and stock ECU does not have that support until ECUTek can do proper boost control with the DE platform. Fuel return is needed once you intend to use E85, or if you are at/over 550-600whp on pump gas purely due to volume. Methanol injection is generally a good insurance policy, and we have all cars making over 1kwhp equipped with them. While not necessary in every application, it's excellent protection of investments.
@youngrichter3988 we can do it here, shoot us an email as we have client all over the united states who transport their vehicles here. Email: Support@sohomotorsports.com
U also dont need Upgraded throttle bodies alot of guys buy ported upper and lower mainfolds with 75mil throttle bodies and actually loose power and torque up top but gain some throttle response and midrange P/T if your motor is really healthy with a good tune some guys have made 360+ whp
You can certainly do it and we have gotten impressive numbers from M5 tuned vehicles. Main issue is that M5 is highly corrosive, so you effectively have to run it, and then immediately drain the tank/fill with pump or E85 and run the vehicle again to clear the M5 from the system as it will damage/clog pumps and injectors.
justin, in your opinion is there a clear winner between SC or turbo for a 2018 7AT Nismo? if so, does that opinion change based on stock 7AT vs VR trans swap? Im a DIY guy and the SC kit just looks so simple, but im a turbo guy at heart lol.
There is no wrong decision there! I will say a turbo/VR setup has been one of the most fun stock block cars I've ever driven here, it's like the kit and the VR transmission were made for each other and work in harmony so well to plant your rear in the seat
Yeah, but compared to buying the components individually it potentially will cost more ( factoring in shipping for each item ) . So when the pack releases, you try to price it up yourself and I'm willing to bet, It would just cost possibly over this. it just makes all consolidated under one. Smart from a business perspective and a consumer perspective, imagine the amount of different vendors to go through to find the right stuff, SoHo is trying to make it a one-stop shop for VQ parts. Plus its more enticing to drive up customer sales as its bundled into one.
Ppl do them with 370zs all the time Danny z even put one into a 350z with a little change to the location of the starter. So I think it’s able to be done
