i installed my kit on my 19, i ran into the same issue with the sticker placement. the wheel would obscure the label if facing outwards is the only reason i could think of to have it facing it inwards what did you end up doing with the parking brake line bracket?

I put overload rear springs on my truck and it got way smoother. But i actually have a heavier load instead of nothing. Steel bimper and camper shell. Never put heavier springs on unless you are heavier.

The problem with going to 33s on a taco is the size change makes your gearing higher! Meaning you are putting more stress on clutches and all that type of thing. Like going from 3:91 to 2:70. If you ever drove a drag car you’ll understand the dramatic difference it is! Factory trans will suffer much more strain. I’ve herd of people here in my town having ther trans slipping with very little use. The problem turned out to be 33s on stock gears. Not to mention lose of HP and torque. Going up a size or 2 isn’t to bad. But when you stretch it to full size truck tires they suffer dearly.

Very simple solution, re gear, then while re gearing, i always do arb lockers and get rid of the stock e lockers that have failed me during river crossings

As far as other people flashing their lights at you, did you align your lights after the lift? Most people forget this step, its usually just the turn of a screwdriver to adjust the lights lower.

The reason you're experiencing that 1/4" difference on the driver side is the infamous taco-lean, most quality suspension lifts will accommodate this lean with a 1/4" spacer on the driver side to make it even. I recommend referencing Toyota Tacoma forums (many out there) to educate yourselves and to save money on wasted time and parts.

Really nice wheels and I like the tires I’m currently turn in my Tacoma into an overland vehicle this be something I might consider thank you for the video helps out a lot appreciate it. I was driving around the Rocky Mountains here in Canada this summer and had a Conversation with another off-road guy and we discussed about bead locks and how they are illegal here in Canada and he was telling me there is a company I wish I could remember which one . That do an internal Bead lock that is legal on the roads it might be something people might want to look into specially if they’re into off-roading.

Hey guys! Great video and thanks for covering every detail with your wheel/tire and lift setup. I just bought the OME 2.5" lift and ive been scouring the internet for info on fitting 33s. I was leaning towards the Method 701 wheels and KO2s and this video just made me decide to get them. I havent installed the lift yet because the OME UCA's are back ordered but Ive been thinking about just going for it and doing the UCA's once they come in. how does your truck perform with the stock UCA's and how was the alignment? Thanks!

Awesome content. So helpful. I just bought Taco TRD Sport, 4 dr long bed. I am trying to decide on tires and lift. This was very helpful. I am trying to understand the implications of offset. I want larger aggressive tires for pulling boat out of water and some off-roading. I want to do as little suspension mods as I can. I am thinking 32” tires, pizza cutting form (narrow rather than wide) and no more than 2” lift, front and back (I don’t mind the rake). Rake will serve me when the diamondback HD is installed. I want a negative offset to give wider stance for stability/safety on and off road. I also think with narrower tire and positive or neutral offset will look ridiculous. I would like 32” tires, with 17” wheels with some negative offset. Do you think that might cause me some trouble? Do you have a feel for what offset I could get away with?

I just did this to my 2018 Ted sport. I have a 2.5” Ironman stage 2. I wanted to go with 275-70-17 but it’s a hard size to get in I guess, so I went with the bigger 285-70-17 A/T and I rub exactly how they are talking about here in the video. I have the same +30 offset with stock wheels, to make up difference by not buying new wheels with offset at 0 or negative, I have 1 1/4” Spidertrax hub centric wheel spacers on which is approx. what 0 offset would be. So far no rubbing, haven’t taken it too deep yet, but for normal rd and potholes… No rubbing. Hope this helps

When you add the upper control arm the width of the tire could rub depending how wide ur tire is

It's all in the wheel specs, such as width and offset. So as tire specs. And how aggressive your tread are.

So how are you stuck a little low but you have eibach on middle clip with 1inch block in rear. That completely takes factory ride height out of play right?

I have a 19 pro due for tires. I wanna fit 285/75/16. Been doing a ton of research and I think ppl say getting a 2” front leveling kit and a 1” AAL in the rear is the way to go. Just worried about the rubbing. I’m more of a mall crawler so not much off roading for me
@juliodavid49
@juliodavid49 3 года назад
I did a 2" front 1" rear lift. I'm going to keep my 16" stock rims for now and get the Nitto 285 70 r16 they are 1" smaller than the 285 75's. I'm pretty sure they won't rub (hopefully).

one way to stop the noise is When installing the suspension it's always good to tighten the bolts to spec after you have the weight of the truck on the ground so your rubber bushings won't twist and bind.
