What a kick ass show my family was fortunate to get the Sunday show. The only thing I was sorry mad about was the Auto Bots intro. Other than that what a great show she the pilot put on.
Yes this aircraft (Tora 101) was originally built in 1952 under license in Canada as a Harvard Mark IV training aircraft otherwise known as a T-6 in the United States. In 1968, the plane was purchased by 20th Century Fox and given extensive modifications to resemble the Mitsubishi A6M Zero for the film "Tora Tora Tora" released in 1970.
@@dbgairshowvideos1612 Very interesting. I've seen that film. On the off chance you are affiliated with any airshows, there is a Czech company that produces 80% scale A6M-5 Zero fighters. Not sure how much they cost but they look very close to the real thing. Would be a fantastic edition to any historical aircraft lineup.
I was there yesterday. The P-40 pilot was awesome. The bottom of the plane was no more than ten to twelve feet above the runway when he did the high speed passes more than once. He has a lot of faith in that P-40. The P-51 Mustang and P-63 King Cobra did high speed low passes also. They were not as low as the P-40 Warhawk though. It was an awesome show as always!

That wasn't a sonic boom. Jets aren't allowed to go superosnic speeds over land and especially over crowds. They would all lose their eardrums. And you can only hear the sonic boom after the plane had passed you, not before.
I really miss the awesome grinding roar of the original engines on the takeoff run. These new engines may be better in every objective way but they sound so generic, like every passenger jet today.
Funny story, I was actually one of the people that drove the GT500 that day. It was on the first run after the C-17 demonstration & I hit 175 mph. It was definitely a surreal experience
Went yesterday, was so disappointed in the F-15C capabilities routine and the F-35, was soooooo hoping for flare dumps but alas nope, every show i've gone to they haven't. Show was underwhelming...and I heard this stated by others at the venue as well.
I've seen Quicksilver at least ten times at various airshows, the first time was Oshkosh in 2008. She is a beautiful airplane, usually clean enough to eat from without a plate, even into the landing gear wells.
