I see I left a comment 5 yrs ago. If I may Id like to add a few lures here that were very productive this season. Spro makes a 1/2 oz & a 3/4 oz buctail jig in a gold chrome combo. I put 2 on a double dropper loop rig with squid head or strip on the hook & they get smashed. Another is actually striper softbait - Tsunami holographic makes an imitation eel about 6" long paddle tail. Black back & green back they come with a great hook that is weighted. I put these on a double dropper loop also & a 12 oz torpedo below same as with the bucktails. Same squid set up too. These things got absolutely clobbered 4 of them cost like 6 something! Cheap! & strong hooks & hit hard by all the rock cod biting that day. I bought like 4 pks of 4. They also survived a whole day of rock cod gobbling them up so theyre sueprisingly durable. I hit em w scent bloody garlic tuna. Hope this is useful.
@@Fishing_Cali925 For sturgeon I like using the 801M+ & 801MH they both will do just fine the 801M+ is a little softer tip and a little more parabolic of a rod I would use more for shallower water sturgeon but the 801MH would be your go to for heavier sinkers to cast out and deeper water to fish. But sometimes I go with a 801M and just really lay into them 😝 but you definitely will have to work it with 801M but you will see every bite. Hope that help out a bit bit I think 801M+ would be your best all around 🤙
Thats a really nice set up you got there my Fellow Fisherman... I have the Reel Winder II but without all the great extras you have. Where do you fish out of?... I'm in SoCal go out of Newport Beach.

You handled that bait cast with the green line really well. Looks like everyone had a great time even with the line chaos. Nice to see Mikey handling the chaos with good traffic directing. The background music sounded like a 70s crime drama Lol. Thanks for the great video 😎
Thank you 🙏 and come in out sometime on one of my charters bro. It’s been an amazing season we will get you hooked up 🤙 Capt. Steve G. Deadliestkastfishing.com 415-819-4522
It has not banned it completely it was just extended. They have a lot of uncertainty with it all. I can still fish for them until the 11th I believe and if it does close they might make catch and release. But I can also fish for sharks in the bay. You know sharks and sturgeon are in the same area if we hook a sturgeon we will just have to take a pic and let em go 🤙
What charter boat are you on? Are you a deckhand? I have fished Emeryville Sportfishing for over 20 years. John (Seawolf), Jay (New Huckfinn) and Alan (Tigerfish) know me pretty well. I also have some expert skills in catching big lings! I have won many of Alan's lingcod tournamants on the Tigerfish and over 30 plus jackpots on those boats!I love your videos for R/F and lings! I'd love to fish with you someday! I'm also trying to get down to SD for a long range this Fall. Just want to split costs! Times are getting expensive! Let me know and take care! I'm really digging Okuma, btw! I've been new to it. Always fished Daiwa, Penn, and Shimano for reels, and multiple high quality rod brands. Okuma is solid for reels!
I’m glad you like the videos bud i appreciate the support and would to have you put one day with me. I run my own 6 pack charter out of the South Bay look me up on IG Deadliest_Kast_Fishing or www.deadliestkastfishing.com
Right now I'm looking at the spindle. From the perspective of 1 year, what is your experience with it? Also, I would not use 0.30 cord, but at least 0.40 (braided cord). Would it hurt the spindle?
Cut into them and let us see! I don’t understand why all of these reviews from people and nobody cuts into the fish so we can see how flaky and done it is. That’s what we are watching the video for
