Is the WIDE base of that handle for handicapped people or for old people who need something to keep the gun from being propelled out of their hand upon firing it
I considered a handful of different companies when I decided I wanted a 2011. Between range employees, family members, local gunsmith shop, forums, RU-vid videos, etc., everyone has their opinions on which way to go. The consistent theme was even if Atlas was not the gun XYZ would buy for themself, it was always highly regarded. Between that experience, and now watching this video of the owner/CEO sharing his goals and vision for the company, and what I personally experienced when talking to Shawn after I finally decided to place my order (and wait 15 months), I can say I'm thrilled I went with Atlas!

I have a brand new athena coming to my ffl this week. With a bad ass serial number too lol. BUT, I’m a range guy, don’t shoot competition, so im thinking the Apollo is more for me. With that said, looks like I will be selling my Athena when she gets here. Anybody interested let me know.
@@AtlasGunworks thought as much, thank you wad just cleaning my firearm and noticed the crack..will have to find a new one, 1911 parts and accessories are a bit hard to come by in South Africa
My P became an Athena and my C2 became a Nyx. Still have an XC and most recently the CS as my summer EDC. Would love to replace my CS with an Atlas...steel grip module, 3.5" barrel, grip safety (I know), and a 4lbs trigger.

I absolutely love this series that you’ve done! It’s great to hear some of the thoughts and facts on how all of this developed. It’s insane how much thought and engineering skill goes into these guns. I liked the 1911, but the 2011 is everything I’ve wanted. To see the market for 2011’s blow up like it has been awesome! Thanks for sharing what you know. Very informative!
Get a Nighthawk if you buy Nike’s for the name. But I would argue that Atlas makes a much nicer 2011 if you want a real shooter, and not just something to show people and say you have one.
My FFL carry Nighthawks and I would love to love those pistols and ad to my collection but they are more like a Kimber than an Atlas. I don't give a 💩 about the "one gun one gunsmith bullshit". An F1 car is not built by one mechanic!
@@Duda4711 My gunsmith said the same thing about the "one gun one gunsmith" recipe at Nighthawk. Said it was very inconsistent and hit or miss on what you end up getting. And when I asked him about the Sand Hawk he got visibly upset that such an expensive gun would use a Cerakote finish. LOL
Fountainhead Guns would have been a good name too. Especially since you wanted to influence the quality of other companies. I liked the Fountainhead better than Atlas Shrugged. Thanks for all the great videos.
