I've been trying to figure out a new spread since MH3 gave us so many extra goodies, but I'm shocked not to see Thalia, GoT here. Why is that? I also acknowledge that I may be bias here because there is a lot of Murktide in my meta, but I'm kind of shocked to not see the queen of taxes in D&T
Honestly, D&T is a very meta dependent deck. The list I play online tends to be quite different than what I’d play at the LGS. If there’s a ton of Murktide I’d definitely throw her in. My reservation in the current meta is that she’s too slow or just not significant enough to run. She gets shot by bowmasters and so many people have switched to creature based decks that the tax doesn’t seem to matter. Especially against Ruby storm. Ruby storm has so many cost reducers that Thalia’s tax maybe delays the storm kill for a turn if you’re lucky
Yeah this list feels very powerful, definitely made a few blunders this league but regardless it was fun. Tomorrow’s video is another great showcase of what this list can do

@@thekinginyellow1890 the meta is so wild right now. I think it could take a while to settle down. It was crazy though, I played against 3 eldrazi decks

fantastic league. with no arbiter i think you could get a few fetches in there if yoiu are having issues with black mana or a plains that also taps for black to take advantage of flagstones.
After the league I was thinking the same thing! Definitely a few too many times where I was starved for black mana. Bowmasters definitely should’ve been a white card.
was hoping for recruiter and rishadan port in modern, not dissapointed with white orchid phantom and recruiter. Really hoping for rishadan at one point though.
We still have more possibly coming... hopefully we get karakas, i just ordered myself a set of karakas, recruiter, and wastelands so i can bounce between legacy and modern
We do have more coming, Karakas and any other lands are crunched out per a list I’ve been following. We have 2 reprints left one from the letter A-O and the other from R-Z. We definitely do have quite a few new cards still needing to be revealed so I’m hopeful! I’m doing the same thing, I just have to pick up my wastelands.
thalia lately feels like its gone the way of Silvergill adept, a 2 drop that does work but doesnt feel needed, Ive been wanting to test out the 2 drop Kemba so that i can not feel blown out when they kill my germ
That’s not a bad thought, I notice that our opponents typically take out Kaldra now with all the artifact hate. But I do like that it can auto equip a sword on etb. Maybe there’s something there 🤔
@@BansheesEscape im also playing Pick your poison and Chokes in the side, because who doesnt love seeing a leyline turn zero, and you just casually playing choke turn 3 while they are tapped out
I actually do! This is what I’d personally play if I went to an event for Modern. The one card I don’t feel 100% set on is Spellbook Vendor. I played it in a league and it definitely won me a few games and gave appropriate card advantage. But if there’s another 2 drop you prefer you can slot it in there.
