I'm just an average guy from Iowa. I enjoy doing things outdoors but I'm certainly no expert. I hope you enjoy my channel and thanks a ton for watching.
I've always felt like it was just a normal pulled pork or brisket sandwich, and Gleason just pretended it was hot. I know another RU-vidr said he found out through an inside connection that they made them in the movie catering truck for the scene.
I’m a 72 year old Marine Corps veteran. I joined in 1970 and I retired in 2000. I had a hobby of reading the Marine Corps history of WWII. Those were some really gritty bastards!!!!!! I get the biggest kick out of just listening to their stories. Magnificent people!!!!!!!!OOOrrrahhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!!!!!!? Semper Fi.
Hi! I was looking forward to your gardening videos this Spring and it looks like you are not doing that series anymore. I am so bummed. I thoroughly enjoyed it and learned a bunch. I hope your garden this year does well and I hope you enjoy another year of gardening. If yoy ever film your gardening ventures again I will definitely watch. Thanks for sharing last season.
I just miss the warmth and overall feel that was the 1970s and 1980s when it came to visiting good ol' family oriented restaurants as a kid back then. Lots of browns, oranges and wood used everywhere lol. Ah better times. Great video! 😎 #Scumbum
Not even close to making good refried beans... For starters you want to add onion, jalapeno, seasoning when you start cooking the beans and you should cook them down over 8 hours to where they almost look refried. Then you can tweek it for taste. What is gonna make them great is bacon grease or beef tallow or both and Knorr chicken bullion powder to refry them. You put those two in you're gonna have magic. Those aren't refried beans but water, thicken them up for real, geez
Does pickled meat rot? The only pickled meat i can think of is pickled pigs feet, which you can find in the grocery store, but im guessing pigs feet doesn't have a lot of muscle.
Recently watched Smokey and the Bandit with my 20 year old daughter, she liked the movie. I'm going to have a Diablo sandwich night. This is the best reconstruction i've seen. Your whole channel is great, i will be spending a lot of time looking, thanks.
Great video , i'm from Atlanta and glad you enjoyed your quick visit. Old Hickory House is a great place and an Atlanta icon ! Come back anytime. Visit the Varsity in downtown , it doesnt dissapoint
I'm new to Maxpedition and stumbled across your video while researching if there were any accessories for the foilage orange color. Seems they discontued this color. I immediately thought of the movie Forrest Gump seconds into the review lol. Not sure if that's what you were going for but I was expecting you to say somewhere along the lines of "an EDC bag is like a box of chocolates....." Eleven years later are you still using the bag?
LOL! It does kindof look like forest gump! Yeah I still have the bag. This one is a lefty version of it, and I don't think they make that anymore either. They seem to have gone the gray man route. Thanks for watching and commenting!
Omg I loved the refried beans and the taco burgers. To this day I still crave them. I can't wait to try your recipe. Thank you for your dedication to recreating them! I was my favorite place to eat as a kid/ teenager.
I made this. I did not see the point of adding the butter, as the 80/20 ground beef I used supplied all the grease needed to replicate the original. I used that same brand of TVP. I used oat flour instead of oatmeal, as persons I know who had worked there back in the late 70's and early 80's said that is what was used. The texture came out perfect. The aroma and taste were quite bland. I wound up adding some taco seasoning to get it to the point of where I thought it was sufficiently replicated to the Taco Tico taste. All that was missing was the Taco Tico sauces, particularly their hot sauce. Thank you for posting this.
I bought the Bear Grylls parang when they came out and I loved it… It kinda inspired me to want to build my own… I don’t even know where to start honestly but I’m gonna learn one of these days… Thanks for the video.
Your memory must suck if you think these taste like the originals!!! They are nothing like the originals! These new ones are garbage! Utz is way closer to the originals than these!
Thank you I haven’t had it in years omg I miss it so badly I crave it ALOT of people miss it I’d choose it over anything else ❤❤❤to this day screw Taco Bell 😂
Topeka Kansas, 1976 to the late 1980's: There was nothing like a big to-go sack of Taco Tico. Sancho's, taco's, taco burgers, etc., when you and friends have the late night beer munchies. There was a mistake regular Tico customers made only once when doing a Tico run, and that was to put your Tico to-go sack(s) in the car seat. What you quickly wound up with was a grease soaked paper bag that left a big greasy mess on your car seat. That grease soaked bag was part of the attraction/signature of eating Tico. Damn it was good!
