I rode a horse a couple of years ago like this, but he was getting on in years, so we didn't open up much. I'm glad you swapped horses and enjoyed it.

I just sold my horse and am taking a couple years away. I was so burnt out juggling home, work and horses and the expense for something that was increasing my anxiety just wasn’t worth it any more. I’m going to take a few years out and come back just in a lesson/part loan capacity. I don’t think I’ll ever buy another horse.

I feel I’ll need to start saving for a holiday like this!! Just curious about the safety vest, do you fit it again for when you’re wearing those clothes versus summer when you wear just a shirt? I recently purchased my first vest and am utterly confused about it 😂

This is brilliant. I am 53, not ridden since 2013 for health reasons, and planning to try again next year. I went on a riding holiday on Dartmoor when I was 18 (1989). Stayed in an old farmhouse on the edge of the moors, and we rode every day for 5 days. Bliss ❤. I have never forgotten it.

Your TB mount reminds me so much of my girl. Very chaotic riding across this sort of ground but doing her best to stay upright 😅 I rode my mare endurance across ground like this alone and in groups and on fast hunt rides without hounds. The natives take to it much more naturally.
