Welcome to Knetter's Practical Outdoors. This channel takes a strange but humorous look at hunting and fishing. Tall tales will collide with helpful tips and tricks to catch more fish and get more game. Remember: hunt, fish, laugh, repeat. God Bless.
word to the wise: if u install hopkins trailer brake lights from walmart, remove the red plastic square cover (the part you see from the rear of the trailer), hammer out the 2 studs on each light housing, go to a hardware store & get 4 HEX HEAD bolts w/ the same diameter, then press those into the plastic light housing, then re-install the red plastic square cover. if you install these rear trailer brake lights w/out doing this, in 2 years, you'll be in your garage, using a dremel and a hammer to remove these pieces of crap. trust me, it's worth potentially breaking the new brake lights!!! it probably won't even break, but if ur reading this, you can THANK me in 2 years! IT'S UP TO YOU.
Looks like you’re doing a little river fishing with your boat instead of your kayaks. Spending the day fishing is just a great time whether you keep a few or throw them all back. It’s still a good time.
@@KnettersPracticalOutdoors this I know. I am leaving Here on Friday morning the 31st and will be up there Saturday. Another working vacation we will be up there through 9 June. The wife and I are really looking forward to it. On Sunday morning, we’re actually going to Marquette, to Menards to pick up a window and a door for a little project. I am doing for temporary shelter while I work on the cabin. it’s a little bit of a drive from Paradise, Michigan to Marquette, but it’s a pretty drive in my wife loves Lake superior she’ll get to see plenty of it
Great video as always. Fun time. Question if you care to answer. What camera are you using front and back? Do they work off remote or continuous video? God Bless yall.
I'm still trying to figure out the best camera set up for my boat. Of course money factors into the equation too. The camera I had in the front was a Canon Vivia. I had an external battery pack attached so it runs for several hours. I also have a wireless microphone attached to it and I put the mic in the middle of the boat. In the back I had a Sony Handycam. I also just turn it on and let it run, but the input for external batteries is messed up, so I have to change batteries on that one. Then I had a Akaso Brave around my neck. I think in a boat the cameras are so close that I may start using action cameras more on mounts. They have that much better field of view. Still experimenting! Thanks for watching!
You tying the square/slip knot off of the reel and showing how to line up the spool with your reel really helped me as a visual learner that spaces stuff out easily, definitely keeping this bookmarked
Incredible! We've got a fixed up painted tilt-up trailer and couldn't get new lights to respond no matter what, and this answered all my questions. Gonna run a ground wire tomorrow from from the lights to the connector, like a another comment said.
Yes, I should have expanded on that. You can just take a piece of wire (check it for good continuity first) and use it as a big jumper. Use smaller alligator clips to attach the wire to the spots you are checking. It's kind of like having longer meter leads.
Knetters, thank you for always taking the time! I love watching your videos. GO Camaro Crawlers ! And if anyone does not know what that means, they haven't been around, hahaha. I have been doing alot of trolling this week for crappie so I needed this Thank you Bill
Its been great , some nice crappie slabs on lipless crank baits On the bass side , some real nice 4lb range on ....Chatter bait , mega bass mag draft , Fred Roumbanis line -thru swimbait panicked action from optimum baits. I have so much to learn so keep the videos goin !!! Thanks Again and thanks for reaching out Bill
Thanks for the tip! Fishing in Greece for some Dentex this weel with my new setup, and this happened about four times on the first day. I spent at least an hour squinting at knots and trying to unravel them. I thought it was my drag settings, but after your explanation, I'll forever check my spool before reeling in!
It really makes a difference. Here is a playlist that may help even more. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-qpRo0jlTcnU.html Stay in touch.
No, leave it as is. Once the "clip on" weight is removed, then the bobber will be on the surface and your hook will be a foot off the bottom. If that makes sense.
what I do is tie a swivel on to my mainline, then use a clip to attach my leader to the mainline, the leader is then tied directly to my lure. That was I have clean presentation, and my leader wont twist up on me. When I swap out, I wrap the leader around a foam board and stick the hook in it.
So what are you supposed to do when you got all the real flyfisherman stuff and you figure out you’re not a flyfisherman but just a guy with a fly rod and a desire to catch a fish
Always nice to go to camp! That was a big bass holy smokes!! We may look into some type of portable juice for out at camp looked like a nice piece. Thanks for taking us along👍
HANDS DOWN , the easiest most comprehensive explanation/tutorial I have ever seen regarding Trailer Lights on RU-vid. And a fantastic 101 for how a basic "circuit" works. Well done sir!
I just received a cocking rope device in the mail. I tried to cocke my Barnett Thunderbolt with it. The string has to travel 14 inches before it reaches the cocked position. The ropes are too long. So I shortened them 3 times !. I still can not cock it. Is there any way I can adjust the cables or arms to make it easier to cock. i am using all my strength . This should be a lot easier. I don't want to get a hernia. Anyone got a solution ? Thanks
Yes that can happen. That's why I don't mind running the wires on the outside. At least you can see issues like that. I had a problem in the trailer frame once too. Not an easy fix and can be hard to troubleshoot.
Do not freak out. This is normal in some fixtures. The fixture grounds through the mounting studs on the fixture to the trailer frame. These types don't need a white wire. Just make sure there is a good clean electrical connection at the studs. Scrap away paint and dirt where the studs contact the trailer.
