@@JeePs_media_LIVE. MJ Bassett is good director, he made solid Solomon Kane movie and couple of good horror movies, so this could be decent sword and sorcery film, but it won't be a Red Sonja film.
Excellent series which has great potential that we would very much like to see in new seasons. The idea that there were two princesses of Vega was excellent. They are endearing and interesting personalities. Visually it's very pretty and the screenwriter who has talent and experience was able to create a few things. It's a series full of homage to the original series and is in itself a clever and beautiful homage to it. A little more fighting would be good but Go Nagai has been saying for 25 years that he wanted to remake a series which favored the psychological and sentimental aspects, it's his choice and the result is good. They cannot cover Kikuchi's music but were able to create a sound atmosphere. Integrating Mazinger was a good idea. Cassado is inspired by the Marquis de Sade. Visually, it's pretty, with beautiful light colors that create an atmosphere and a quality visual signature. With limited means but a talented team, they created a real work of art. We can only hope that all of this is developed in two or three more seasons.
Thank you for your comment, i agree with everything you said, i don't want more fighting, i just wish that the fights scenes we do have are more detailed, better choreography, less close ups / far away fighting stars in the sky...
Calling it now, it gonna flop, netflix cant help themselves, they need to insert modern woke dei crap into any IP, this will have insufferable strong wahmen kicking ass while keep reminding u she is bi or gay. Just wait and see.
Thank you for sharing, i was wondering if i was the only one thinking this, but i will still keep an open mind until i see it... fingers crossed it is nothing like Witch from Mercury...
I will agree that Babylon 5 was a fantastic show and IMO better than DS( in the end. But I will also completely disagree that DS9 was not Star Trek. In TOS we not only heard about Starfleet and the wars it fought, but at the time Starfleet was in a cold war with both the Klingons and the Romulans. Several episodes were set against the Klingons or Romulans as covert or overt warfare. Later TNG was Star Fleet after 95+ years of peace. You may note I say Starfleet and not the Federation. If you watch closely in Star Trek the lack of money and the push to better themselves is a Starfleet thing. Replicators and such. The rest of the Federation and other races do indeed use money as they have merchants everywhere and there are many episodes in TNG where various Federation colonies/outposts and Federation sourced "un-official" colonies/outposts are on the brink due to not affording basic necessities. Star Treks Starfleet is a elite segment of the Federation that exists in a bubble of plenty security. Deep Space Nine is, IMO the best of the Star Treks because it portrayed the Starfleet personnel as full on Star Trek Starfleet getting smacked right in the face by the reality of the universe outside the isolated confines of the Perfect World Starfleet ship. The struggle to maintain the Starfleet outlook in a universe that just doesn't care. And the cold shock when the Starfleet personnel suddenly realize just what the other part of their responsibilities really mean when slapped by an actual full blown war where they are NOT the biggest kids on the block. Don't get me wrong, I love the Star Trek ship exploring the universe series and trope. But it was great to dive into the other side of Starfleet in a show, rather than just stories alluded to in a show.
Thank you for sharing you thoughts, though i will still stand by my words that DS9 is not Star Trek ( not the utopian vision of Gene ) ... Having said that, all the points you mention are very valid, and is one of the reasons why DS9 deserves its place. In the end, the series did win me over...
As a longtime Gundam fan, I share both your excitement for a new UC Gundam series and your concerns about the 3D animation style. In any case, I'm sure we'll get some epic mobile suit battles
They dress better than most people now, plus all the gold wearing this movie makes no sense at all terrible, not realistic at all the clothes was to clean hair and eye brows like it was just done at the salon just the other day lol.
I tend to very much agree with you, yet somehow i still think this should be released, if only to get us to talk good or bad about the IP... Its been 40 years since the first Red Sonja, i am that desperate to get people talking about this subject...
Not only did the Conan remake with Jason Momoa bomb at the box office, grossing barely half its budget, Solomon Kane which is also based on a character created by Robert E. Howard shared a similar fate. This seemed to put paid to any more films in the same genre being released. This to me is such a shame as I am a big fan of Robert E. Howard's stories and the character of Conan in particular. I personally thought that Jason Momoa looked so much better in the role than Schwarzenegger and I loved the scene where he's in the cell, staring at the door, waiting to unleash his fury! Maybe the current climate *is* a good time to release a film based on Red Sonja, the very definition of a strong, independent woman who don't need no man to fight her battles for her, but like you say, it would need a good script, a solid story. Also it would to appeal to more mainstream audiences while keeping any "message" on the down-low
And lastly if your A.I. nerd like me that has studied the topic, or just thinks about it too much, this movie won’t surprise you with new ideas but seeing it on a screen is still fun.
Also if you’d like a great snyopsis on A.I. just go watch Elon, explains how truth be told it’s all input and output as such is all life. Interface is the only problem we face now.
Solid B-tier movie. If you enjoy true horror, the one I’m sure humanity will face someday, and you don’t mind those very dark questions in your mind, take it for a spin. Singularity is a topic we aren’t capable of understanding, for now. Scary stuff.
It would be nice for them to be sued, but these are produced in China and sold by Amazon. It’s impossible to sue Amazon and you can’t really sue company that’s located in China
