Very impressive.19:30. But it would be a lot more impressive if you didn't touch the 3 of clubs, at all. Once you touch it, the whole thing becomes sleight of hand, not magic on a universal scale.
I felt in similar manner when I saw Derek do Color Triumphant on Tannen Stars of Magic video (then quickly sought out his books). I still perform it. ..... I noticed your handling final reveal(s) & color change is different than on SoM. I like it. My thought on Derek’s magic: most sleight tricks I was learning at the time were constructed with a procedure of 1-2 sleights with patter. Derek was misrepresenting from the start on this and most of his magic. From his way of introducing the deck all the way to showing the reveal and color change was 100% deception, start to finish. I had to do that too. Thanks for sharing!
hey i saw your act in Fool Us and thought you are really under appreciated. i really loved the ending act + speech. tried to catch the cooler but couldn't. hats off to you
Quoting Jamy Ian Swiss on Vernon: "It must suffice here to say that Vernon, while he was an innovator and creator, was above all, an orchestrator and selector. He analyzed everything knowable about the entire course of magic of his time and the times that had preceded him, and then he made careful selections, and added his own perspective-what Lewis Ganson dubbed “The Vernon Touch”-and repeatedly created wholes that existed far beyond the sums of their collective artistic parts." One cannot see these performances of so many classics of magic, without concluding that there is such a thing as the "Michael Vincent Touch" and that it is a thing of beauty.
I really enjoyed the adjusments you made to the "Topsy turvy aces" routine. It looks more direct, easier to follow and with fewer difficult riffle shuffles than in A. Wimhurst's version. I also find very magical your personnal rendition of the invisible palm. Thank you for sharing your work !
Beautiful magic Mr. Vincent from beginning to end. The connection with your audience is pure magic and then your performance is wonderfully executed. Bravo 👏
Such a classy gentleman with his style of magic. I remember many years ago I had the pleasure of seeing Michael at my local barbers and he was happily showing all of us his wonderful card tricks. A true gentleman 🙏🏽
Just astonishing dear Michael..You are and always be one of the most classiest and elegant magicians/performers this craft has ever born!! Also, your storytelling ability is captivating and enchanting..
Michael Vincent you are classy, charming, and an extraordinary magician! I've seen you do these before and yet I feel wonderfully astonished again tonight after watching. The "ring trick" was the best version I've ever seen! I first saw you 12 years ago on Penn and Teller and you have been my favorite since. I've loved magic since I was a kid in the 60's. Especially card magic. Martin Nash, Doug Henning, David Copperfield etc. were favorites at the time. I've seen most of your videos and never seem to tire of them. Thank You so much for your contributions. Very Best Regards.
Been watching your penguin live lectures and your youtube channel... I have to say you must be in the top 10 best magicians performing today... curious did you study under darwin ortiz and david roth??
not a magician but ive always been a huge fan of your work with cards, however your coin tricks always seem to astonish me the most. Your videos are always fantastic, from a longtime fan, thanks. You very clearly love what you do which i think inspires me the most (as a fan who has no idea how its done).
Hey Michael, do you know if Darwin has ever met Marlo? I was just wondering. He only talked about meeting Vernon but never mentioned Marlo in his books or lectures.
