My best bench ever was 315lbs but it was questionable. My butt came off the bench slightly, I was close but not ready for that weight I just knew I wouldn’t be able to workout for the next 2 years or so and I went for it. I came back to bench after a long time away from the gym and was surprised I could still handle 225 for sets of 5 and my bench was coming back way faster than building it originally. Now even though I can handle 260 for a rpe7 triple my arms shake like crazy. I remember when I originally got those prs years ago I had never experienced any kind of shaking even when maxing. Maybe giving my stabilizers time to catch up is the best option.
