The close quarters don't really play to the strengths of a game like quake, so much as in doom. Quake is an arena shooter, where reflexes and planned movement are the key skill. Whereas in doom, it's more about just knowing the map and what's around the corner, and knowing where to go in the map (the ability to actually SEE a map adds to the appeal of exploration in Doom) - the most fun I had with doom was when I first began playing on hurt me plenty, when it felt more like a survival FPS.
10 year after the post and 24 after the fact. I was in MOE as Rocketfodder. Don't remember this map or match. I remember all of the MOE's here... HEYMOE! I remember a couple of the PTH guys. What awesome memories. Thanks a lot if you're still around!
Wow I'm glad someone uploaded this. Probably one of the most entertaining examples of an early Quake final. Red Annihilation is historic but this is just more fun to watch. If you happen to still have the demo, any chance you could upload and link to it somewhere? It's nowhere on the internet at this point.
