It's too bad that this guide to living in Ashburn, Broadlands, and Brambleton only show the outside of the residences. Please consider showing what the insides of the dwellings look like.
There are SO many house types it would be hard to show them all. Add to that the restrictions on taking videos in homes that are for sale it makes it really difficult to do that. This is where the buyer consult comes in to play - learning more about what the buyers want in a home and then scheduling showings to go see them. We also do virtual showing for those clients are not local.
If I had the money and "immigration" savvy, I would definitely move to Leesburg. Great area. Just got done my THIRD trip to this area in mid-July. The 36 degree heat was arduous, but the Rebellion, Tuscorora, Lightfoot, Green Tree Tavern, Black Hoof and Downtown Saloon spots, helped me mitigate all that! Keep 'em coming, Mss.!! God bless! >......:)
Loudoun County is so expensive the residents call Asburn, Cashburn. We lived in Lansdowne and Round Hill and it is lovely but wow it takes a ton of $$$$$$$$$$$$ to maintain there. We moved to Winchester a dozen years ago. It used to be much more affordable but then everyone started moving here to get away from the high prices in Fairfax and Loudoun. Now Winchester is almost as expensive as everywhere else in NOVA, which is too expensive...
It is true that all home prices in the NOVA area have gone up because of the pandemic and the demand. Winchester is a lovely town though and despite the price increases I hope you still love it there!
I fell in love with Leesburg when I saw it first in 1986, coming from NY. I now live in a nearby area. I deliberately drive through town rather than the by pass just because it’s so charming. But if you are thinking of moving to Loudoun county, watch out for the rampant spread of data centers. My advice would be to Google the situation … and consider living in a well established community where there are no ‘open spaces’ left.
Good point Jean. The data centers are most prevalent in Ashburn, but Leesburg does have a couple. I've lived in Leesburg since 1998 and have enjoyed raising my family here.
I grew up 30 minutes from Leesburg in Philomont, Va...I have sang and played guitar in every bar in Leesburg, but the wineries and breweries are great to play....but I can't afford to live in Leesburg much longer...I paid less rent when playing in Key West...Leesburg is beautiful..but most people I knew as a child have been pushed out financially
Hi Suzanne, that's so great that you've been able to play at the wineries and bars here. I am sure I've probably seen you! Unfortunately, you are right, values have risen, making it more costly to live here. It's a blessing and a curse for living in this cute little town. Thanks for your comment!
Having lived in and owning a home in NYC, this seems right on par with what i have now... except for that personal property tax. Strange idea of being taxed on something I purchased and paid tax on at the time of purchase and then be taxed again every year i own it. For this reason alone, I've moved Virginia down a few pegs on places to move to.
Yes it is something to be aware of. However, I'd do an overall assessment of taxes before you decide 100% that Virginia is less desireable. It may be that other taxes (sales tax or shelter tax) may be more comparatively. Thanks for your comment!
Excellent video. We are planning to move TK Leesburg by Jan 2024 and we are finding all your videos and topics super useful. Keep up the great work. Subscribed.
