We used to live across the valley in North Hykeham, so I know this bit of road, but I never went to watch the downhill race. I bet that feels pretty fast being so low in a small vehicle.
Hello, Im from Brasil, and I really got interest in your Project, i'd like to know if you finished and some results, Im thinking about doing somethin near yours, thanks a lot anyway!!
Your master cylinders are mounted way too far apart. according to most balance bar specifications there should be no more than .25 in between the center of the balance bar and the first centerline of the master cylinder
@@kennethm2312 basically you need to mount the master cylinders much closer together. There should be a quarter inch Gap between the center section and where each cylinder rod meets the balance bar
The clevis pins at the end of the cylinders were too far apart - they should have been tight up against the tube on the pedal. Fixed version here: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-4jkAqmogWGw.html
@@JamesCroisdale I saw the other video where you fixed the issue. Did you have to narrow the space between the two master cylinders or were you able to adjust the two clevis pins closer together? I have the same issue and narrowing the two master cylinders will be difficult.
Hey James do you have any blueprints of this steering system? Because me and some mates are construting a soapbox car with this system for a school procjet.
Hi there! No blueprints i'm afraid, sort of made it up as i went along. Did the steering column and front axles and then joined it all up with the connecting rods. If you're building a soapbox and have any questions I would highly recommend heading on over to: facebook.com/groups/1634831666761010/ All the big hitters from the UK, USA and beyond are all on there, and me too! :-)
