If I try and replicate the same steps in Revit 2019, my 'display elevations' text parameter is greyed out and I can't change to show top and bottom elevations. Why is that?

It isn't working for me. I'm trying to load it into mechanical equipment.

Manufacturer only gives me thermal resistance not thermal conductivity, where can I specify the R value of the material?

Hello-- The reciprocal of thermal conductivity is thermal resistivity, so you can just enter the reciprocal value.

Nice, but is it possible to create a TAG with pipe centre line? (standard for most piping system in the UK) tried to create one myself but managed only a pipe invert elevation.... I still cannot believe that Autodesk did not include this in revit (and in Acad MEP)

Hi Guys I am very new to revit mep. I am getting very frustrated because I need to create my own pipe and fittings but can not find a book or tutorial on how to. Does anybody have any ideas. Please help.

I think you have answered my Question, also I've been playing around with it, and seems to work. as long as the System classifications are the same in both the family and Project model, i can create, like you say any system type related to that classification in the project model. i thought you had to create the system type in the families too. Seem easy when you know how. thanks for the reply. Now off to the Autodesk University Classes to learn more.

Hi Guy-- I'm not sure I completely understand your question.. In 2012+, when adding a connector to a Family in Family Editor, you define the System Classification (i.e., Hydronic Supply). In the Project, the connector can then connect to any pipe that has a System Type witt the '"Hydronic Supply' classification (for example, 'Chilled Water Supply' or 'Heating Hot Water Supply'.)

Hi Martin, When Creating systems in the Project Browser/Families, how can i create these in an actually family(block) so they link up. theses pipe systems aren't available in families.any idea or are there any tutorials that explain this sort of thing. Cheers Guy

I think this should be a STANDARD out-of-the-box feature, but thanks for sharing!

Not to worry, we understand your confusion. This functionality was completely overhauled in Revit 2012. You can now create your own System Types under System Browser > Families > Piping Systems to greatly simplify this process.

Coming from someone that uses AutoCAD this is so confusing. It looks like it will help in the long run, but now I'm so confused.

Unfortunately, I don't think I saved the family anywhere (that I can readily find it). Creating your own 'version' should be rather straight forward... would a video on how to do it help?

First off, prefix for Oxygen = o2, Nitrous Oxide=N20 and Nitrogen= N2 Secondly, CGA color codes are O2=Green, N2O=Blue, N2=Black

Thanks for the video Martin. Do you have other training videos for Revit MEP? I work at an MEP firm that has Revit and we have had training for MEP, but the training for the plumbing portion wasn't very ellaborate. We were told that it wasn't really ready for plumbing design. We would love to have more training for plumbing. How can I get in contact with you?
