That's were I was when I was 6 years old in the stands and when I got old enough I got to go in the pits at the age of 13 or 14 that was the age you could get in the pits back then. Had a lot of fun!
It would be nice to see photos of all the non San Jose drivers who made the trip thru Pacheco Pass every Saturday for the races. A lot of cars & drivers from the Central Valley would be recognized. Thanks.

ok watching you coming down highway 101 and exiting on tully road toward San Jose Speedway brought back so many memories so cool. i watched the racing every Saturday night. Best racing ever. your film really takes me back, over 40 years back
i remember Bill Scott in his blue car #5? He was the veteran racer when i saw him at the San Jose speedway.. Great racer, so respected by all. enjoyed watching him race. Lloyd beard too. San Jose speedway, what a place.
i found a guy at the capitol flea market selling pictures of San Jose speedway racing. i bought some and framed them. up in my home. good memories. your vids are cool.
thanks for sharing this. it was some of the best racing in the nor cal area. sargent, ringo ,kaeding,rescino,scott, many other greats. i went every Saturday. i was 12 years old. i am 64 now. this brought back great memories. so sad when they closed it near the hillview airport. San Jose Speedway. people who never experience this place, really missed out. I show thi to my kids Christmas dinner. thanks again
I grew up at San Jose speedway. I loved watching Marshall and al pombo race every Saturday night. Then herb and Howard Keating Ray fagonie. Number 85 in the Simi main ,carmel. Fernandez in the c race. Those were great drives in day. From gwyn and James Spokane Washington

Can you tell me if San Jose Speedway is still open ? Did it change its name.?.. I worked there in 1974. I looked at Google Maps and it seems to be closed or changed names.

I love your slideshows of the old hardtops at the original san jose speedway. My dad used to take me there all the time. Marshall sargent, al pombo, clyde palmer and so many more. I raced stock cars at sj fairgrounds speedway late 70s mid 80s along running at baylands in fremont thank you for sharing these great pics brings back awesome memories
My Dad use to bring me there in the late 80's. Quick Nick and Rod Spencer battles. After the race I remember my Dad letting me choose one wooden car model of one of the racers. Sweet memories.
Hello, i was raised attending races at san jose speedway. In fact, my father raced stock cars there in the late '50s and early '60s, he ran #50 or 51 with blue numbers...anyway...watching your footage brought back memories! I was wondering if you might have additional pictures or footage of the crowds at the speedway on saturday nights as he and my brother and i were there always! I would love to find pics of my father...he has passed away. My brother and i continue to be race fans. Thank you for any assistance you might be able to give.
