A WW1 & WW2 MILITARIA COLLECTOR WHOM WANTS TO SHARE SOME OF THESE HISTORICAL ITEMS WITH YOU!
PLEASE NOTE, ANY THIRD REICH PIECES OF THE COLLECTION DO NOT REPRESENT AN ENDORSEMENT OF SUCH IDEOLOGIES. ONLY AN APPRECIATION OF HISTORY, THE ERA, AND ABOVE ALL ELSE THE STORIES OF THE PEOPLE INVOLVED.
Militaria dealers, the largest legal fraud gang there is. They involve millions and all dealers participate. They make the books in which they exhibit the so-called real stuff. They make up stories and names. From Wittmann to Weitze, they are all scammers.
Started collecting in 1968 when my father who was a WW2 combat vet gave me a silver panzer badge and a stickpin that he brought back. My advice to new collectors is to buy from long time reputable sellers that 100% guarantee the items that they sell are authentic for life. The high-tech fakes are abundant, and this is why I only buy from long time dealers that I know and trust.
Wish we had a show like this back in the late 1960s when I started collecting. German fakes were easy to spot back then. My first purchase back then was a SS enlisted dagger by Robert Klass, price was $75.00. Sa daggers ran around $25.00. My father was a Sgt. in the US Army 160th Combat Engineer Battalion in the Eto. He was at D Day and the bulge. I still have a silver panzer badge & a Nskk stickpin that he gave me.
Wow, that’s amazing about your father. Also an SS dagger for $75 is amazing lol. Oh have times changed. I don’t think that type of value growth will happen again but maybe it will. Sadly that might be the end of this hobby if things get grossly more expensive than they are now. Maybe I’m the the sucker but I love owning these pieces of history.
Back then it was pre-computor so we had to rely on the shotgun news for items for sale. Also putting wanted ads in local newspapers worked pretty well. If it was from a vet, I always paid them a fair price.
Very nice looking collection thus far 👍, that must have been a great show, looked like a lot of cool stuff . You did a good job. I think you might be able to make the Heer infantry NCO's visor cap display nicely on a mannequin if you do it just right.. it kinda has a crusher look to it im a way. Idk, just a thought of what I would probably do.. but whatever! Anyway, I've been collecting for a while now and It's nice seeing a new fellow collector join the ranks. Welcome.
Si que interesante , alo bien que esas ferias son lo maximo , en costa rica somos poco los coleccionistas de militaria pero creo que estas feruas son un gran ejemplo para todos los coleccionistas
Great video thank you, I like your style, good communication, smooth video, some fantastic buys, I love collecting too, love this hobby from si in uk 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
Enjoyed the video. I am fairly novice collecting militaria but much more advanced collecting firearms. Is something like the show of shows worth going to based on pricing or is it like gun shows where everything now seems to be jacked up to sell to people who don't know fair values?
There still needs to be a “buyer beware” mindset. There’s still reproductions and over priced items. SOS is just the largest militaria show in the world. So if your looking for the rarest of rare or items At more of a “wholesale” price point it’s here at this show. You need to know what you’re looking at however.
Nice daggers from a very reputable source. Just have to say though some factual errors about the SA, the SA continued as an organisation up until the end of the war. One of your daggers was even made a couple of years after the night of the long knives (the RZM dagger). Kristallnacht wasn't until 1938 or thereabouts, and that was the SA. Viktor Lutze was the leader who replaced Rohm up until about 1943. The SS was formed in the 1920s as part of the SA. Really interesting items though, thanks for sharing.
Thanks for the comments. I understand what you’re saying but I’ll tell you everyone is about the same. In fact I find him to be less than most in terms of pricing. Also, he’s got his channel to follow up on so with the $$ you can get some great education. Plus I think Wittman is a super guy! Cheers!
I think every thing in the last 61 years I have been collecting has went crazy I anymore stick local I have small town dealer that does a few vet and old school collections buys and I stick with him but he has done some price rise lately because he can't buy items as cheap any more. For a young collector you have a good channel! I'm old school SA daggers I've bought 50 bucks years ago got my first helmet nine bucks double decal too in 1963.
wouldn't necessarily consider this rookie status, a lot of great stuff here man. excellent medals, especially the iron crosses. this stuff is so expensive now a days i think its better to buy something more affordable if its mint vs. something more desirable in average condition
Thank you so much for the comment and compliments.yes expensive is right. However it’s the one thing other than a home I’ve invested in that I thoroughly enjoy. However Im a big history guy and Wittman got me hooked on daggers/makers
Thank you for your subscription. My experience with this frame job was simple in that the flag actually fit almost perfectly. I’ve had other experiences with different flags that did not fit so well. That said, a little proper folding solves that problem more times than not. Do measure out your flags prior to purchasing the frame so you know what you’re looking for.
The dealers that I have known for a long time that I consider reputable are Tom Wittman, Ltc. Johnson, Bill Shea at The Ruptured Duck. There are 2 sources in Canada as well that sell to US collectors, Lakeside Trader & The Collectors Guild.
