Just found your channel, nice. I have started a channel with my grandchildren "welding with grandad" we are going ok mainly short films. But we are struggling with filming the arc. What do you use for the arc shots. BTW. Nice to see decent welds not stacking dimes crappie. Thanks again grandadwelder 😅

Nice work, inspiring to see your skill and the quality of the results. Why do you purge with nitrogen, is that less expensive than argon? If I may gently suggest, a bit less camera bobbing about in some of the hand-held arc shots would make this easier to watch.

If you want to get really consistent, learn to feed the wire rather than dabbing it in. The easiest way to do this is to have a half length of wire at home. Feed it smoothly through your fingers when your watching tele. Doesn't take long to get used to it.

the torch you are using now is a binzel MB 15 AK, that torch has a max duty cycle of 60% at 180A on 85-15 argon/co2, try a MB 24 (240A) or a MB36 (340A) they can handle the power of the machine and are a bit more comfortable in the hand. the MB36 is the same size as your kemppi torch

I got the 250 amp version, cracking machine. Was gonna buy a kemmpi or fronius as I'm slowly setting up a side business but the lad in the shop convinced me to try jasic stuff and for less than the money i was gonna spend on the more expensive brand welders i also got a small plasma, a wee suitcase arc welder and a watercooled acdc tig unit! I'll work my way up to be able to afford fancy equipment in time but ive driven the 250 pfc mig to the last trying to see will it overheat and I actually couldn't get it to! Very happy with their gear I must say

The "super spatter". Thats a sign of globular transfer. Not dip transfer, not spray transfer, but in between the two. Any tradesman knows that. Where did you serve your apprenticeship? It isnt the torch. Even with 0.8mm, that little Jasic doesnt have the oomph behind it to get into a proper spray transfer.

That line shows where the pointed tip at back of the puddle was when it solidified. When you dont see it, just means it wasnt a stable puddle and was moving about. That line shows it was stable and nice and hot. Nothing to do with penetration, and definitely nothing to do with "crystalline structure"
