Zero Waste Europe is the European network of communities, local leaders, experts, and change agents working towards the same vision: phasing out waste from our society.
We empower communities to redesign their relationship with resources, to adopt smarter lifestyles and sustainable consumption patterns and think circular.
Brilliant! Paul. Thankyou. Sharing! .... We have that Beast system trying to infiltrate our town, Te Awamutu, Aotearoa, NZ. We are not buying!!! Altho can't trust what the local Waikato Regional council will do.... The people are organising this very minute, so this information and video is extremely helpful to our cause

I saw what was in that compost bin...whole tomatoes, carrots, and a lot of foods that could have been canned or frozen before letting it get to the stage of rotting. Shame for wasting the good parts of foods before discarding. How about a garden?
Hallo, I enjoyed listening to the speakers, thanks for this. So what are the next steps and the way out of this huge waste problem? We know recycling is not enough and also not happening.. we need to avoid plastic packaging in the first place. Circular economy is obvisiously also not happening and many obstacles are not discussed at all in the industries. thanks for your feedback, happy to join next time and learn :)

@@ZeroWasteEurope Wow! I'm impressed not only by the thoroughness and promptness of your reply but by the huge range of issues you guys are tackling. This is all very useful. Thanks.
Merci Élisabeth. Thank you so much. I change a lot of things in my life because you are our inspiration. Même ma famille d'Algérie vous suit. Je vous souhaite plein de belles choses à vous et votre famille. Inchallah.
Thanks for this interview. We developed since 2002 an eco-friendly technology to treat and recycle medical waste. No steam, no emissions. We are also (for sure) against incineration.
Very useful information. Wonder how DRS is negotiated and received by manufacturers? Should a national policy-legislation come prior or be enforced first?
The participation to the Live! webinars is free but to help us maintain and improve this project we ask you for a small contribution to watch the recordings.. In light of the lockdowns and quarantines still in place all over the world, we decided to give free access to all our webinars recordings until August 31st. You can find them all here: zerowastecities.eu/webinars/
Hopefully we will get redemption value of plastic bottles and cans this year! The government in Austria works REALLY SLOWLY! The riverbanks of the Danube are full of trash, which is in Coronatimes very dangerous.
This is really huge amount of plastic ooh!!!! I was wondering the amount of plastics in my local beach, Somalia beach.. and because of that doing now research title about Assessment plastic wastes on Mogadishu beach.
Would it be better to have more recyling than trash? I live in the US and most things are packaged. Non packaged are more expensive and have a shorter shelf life.
Bèa has a free app called "Save the Bulk", where you can find locations worldwide of package-free shops. I'm sure there are a few where you live. zerowastehome.com/2016/04/welcome-to-my-new-site-and-app/
Phew! Finally found the Nature article Mr. Potocnik was referring to at 2:00 It was from June 2012 (and not July): www.nature.com/nature/journal/v486/n7401/full/nature11018.html Open access version: www.researchgate.net/publication/235752538_Approaching_a_state_shift_in_Earth's_biosphere
I have designed a boat that is truly efficient and easy to maintain. A real floating debris harvester ! theoceancleaner.org/sargaboat-plastic-debris-harvester/
Hi! This is definitely an aspect of the problem. However Delphine mentions in her article on the topic (www.zerowasteeurope.eu/2016/07/the-curse-of-sachets-in-asia-why-western-companies-should-be-held-accountable/) , that it would in fact be cheaper for packaging-free dispensers of the products to allow for people to use refillable containers. So whilst poverty is related to this waste it is not correct that there aren't other ways for producers to act, and it is not the most cost effective option for people.
Paul, greetings from Puerto Rico. We owe you a lot for the many times that you've come over to help educate our country about proper waste management, zero waste and zero incineration. And you have always come volunteering your precious time to spread the word on zero waste. We are proud to have worked with you and to have been able to have fun, as you always emphazise. Please be well and keep in touch. Angel from the Coalition of Anti Incineration Organizations.
