What a race Chris. Glad you enjoyed it as much as I did. You deserved the win. Your pace was wild in the second stint. Much love and hopefully we will race again soon. ✌🏻
Thanks for the recognition of the efforts were putting into the Mazda2s. Colin in the blue black 133 has been putting amazing effort in to improve his driving and the car set up. We should be able to give you a challenge soon as we still haven't upped power running 100 factory horses. Looking forward to a battle in the future.
nice video. would you benefit from 3rd out the last corner before your flying lap? i believe the left (turn 2) is often an earlier turn in for a quicker line due to camber? i dont know if this is true.
4th is generally a smidge faster but it depends on fuel loads etc. Cascades is different now that they've resurfaced it, a lot more grip so more lines possible.
@@2rmmotorsport thanks, I cant see your revs so hard to tell. from when i owned my mazda, it felt like it needed ragged. didnt know that about cascades :)
Best ever view I’ve had of my car from your rear view there. The safety car drama at this one sure was crazy. Hoping to go back this year let’s see how it goes!😅
Great Video Chris, was great to meet you, and thanks for all the advice. I hope you are going to Snetterton 300 so I can try to stay within 30s this time. Not setting the rears to 45psi in the first stint might help 😂.
nice video, i would forget the gentlemanly waving, it only has potential to distract you. Several experienced racers have told me off for this on trackdays, so I suspect they are right.
I wave the upper classes through so they know a) that I’ve seen them and b) which side is best to pass me on. I also give a thumbs up to slower cars who’ve done me the same courtesy.
Tbh I knew I shouldn’t have went but I didn’t want the mx5 to have a bang. It was my second time out on track and I didn’t want to ruin my race or any others. The safety car in the second phase was a complete mess. But I didn’t want to end up ruining races.
What an absolute balls-up that second safety car was 😂 Id have found it very annoying if I'd not already been yeeted into the middle of a field by that point.
What was happening with the safety car/ C1 shenanigans. Was the C1 going slow because of being a novice during a safety car, or was it driving flatout the whole time? Solid 2nd place and lap record tho 💪👌😎
If you get the wave-by you can drive a little faster than the usual SC speed to join the back of the pack. The C1 was a novice and didn’t know this. He just circulated at a reduced rate. It was a bad call from the Race Director tbh. Anyway, cheers!
As the C1 driver in question, just to clarify I was going as flat out as I could under safety car even after being waved past, but those things aren’t the quickest anyway and our engine had to be rebuilt out of bits on Friday so wasn’t at its peak. I tried to be as out of the way and predictable as possible, but the first green flag I was shown wasn’t till round banking so I was left trying to work out exactly how many people were coming past and how many in the chain had still seen the SC panel across the line.
@@carolyndoyle3035 as someone with no physical racing experience (lifelong motorsport fan) please forgive any crudeness/ ignorance. Knowing your perspective really helps my dumb ass 🤣. It seems you were just as puzzled as myself, and you were in the car! That cannot have been a comfortable/ easy situation to be in, even more so as a novice. Great job on the engine rebuild!! 💪
@@lucille_the_rat I can take no credit for the rebuild that was our wizard of a mechanic. Yeah it was a bit hairy particularly round Rocket, my one real concern was someone thinking the BMW behind me was the slow car and going round him and not seeing me
Thanks for clarifying…in hindsight there was no need to wave half the pack through for such a short SC period. My anger (although directed at you whilst on track) was really aimed at the race director. My apologies!
Well driven 👍. Must remember to thank the Clio for holding everyone up so we got to feature in the race footage. Joking aside glad the you and the car are ok. That could have been nasty going into the side of him.
Loved it mate. Thanks for letting me come crew for ya!! Epic day, great racing, and an epic Video!!! Nice to put the race into context as we only hear the radio and see you drive past. We notice gaps change but never know why until we see this. Loved it thanks again dude ❤🤘💪
@@2rmmotorsport the red was ahead before the safety car board. Made sure to check both his and your footage again. Driver of the blue didn't have his footage but was along side and should have backed off. Can't blame him being enthusiastic for his first ever overtake. Thank fully the red flag went out to re grind everyone.
@@2rmmotorsport public apology. Thank you for the uncut footage. Looking again and at other onboards, my guys did pass under yellows and SC boards. We will be having a team chat before the next round at Silverstone 👍
Great Drive. As you say in the video, nothing better then good clean racing. Class E seems to be getting less and less regulated. That golf should never have been in the same class as us. Saying that on the National circuit I think my cars needed a class F. We couldn't compete on those straights with only 100hp. Looking forward to Donington this weekend.
Thanks for the effort to create this content and make it very understandable 👍 just did this mod without removing the intake collector - only took the air filter housing off and its really a 30 minute job. Will test the car tomorrow and hopefully this mod will make the car feel more responsive below 2000 rpm
Thanks, great video. I've just done the 180 mod in less than 10 mins following this. I always look to blank the EGR on a diesel if I can and the state of them when I do shows that its worth doing.
Have you tried the spring modification You drill a spare hole in the throttle cable portion of the system. Giving you more spring pressure to keep the blade from getting stuck. Lubricants help but for short periods of time
@@jptperformance yes, the spring mod was the first thing that I did but it still fails. The true cause of the issue is the unlubricated spring and collet. I've now gone back to the stock spring setting and it's perfect. Just need to clean and regrease periodically
awesome video fella, im the driver of the white/orange fiesta lol, thanks to you and the other guys for making me feel welcome in assembly, was a damn good race with you guys, the car has still got an open diff which is partly why i was dropping back so much out of some of the corners plus a lack of talent lmao. see you at oulton 🤞🤞
