As always, you documented Ricketts Glen to a new level. Unbelievable footage and images. And for once, camping while it’s raining or storming has paid off beautifully. Congratulations on a perfect 2 part series.
Thanks for the kind words as always Teddy, Ricketts will forever be one of my favorite Pennsylvania State Parks, the rainy day really did add to this hike and at the end the old sun even showed its face for once in one of my videos!
It is worth the trip/drive! I was a little hesitant about making the 4 hour drive but now I am ready to drop everything and go back once again, I can't imagine how that area looks in the fall!
Troxel is I believe 3 miles? I remember hiking that from the trail head in 2023 and we walked 6 miles in and out according to my app. But all worth it!
@@MaksimOutdoors have you ever been to Hickory run SP? Lots of waterfalls lots of trails plus the river of rocks and an overlook. Shades of Death trail is probably a top 5 trail in Pennsylvania
Can tell your not from the area the park/lake wasn't just for recreation but like Peace Valley/Lake Galena built as flood, drought control in future as well as need for the continuing need of growth of eastern PA.
Awesome. We didnt see the crevasse when we were there. We were too tired after the climb out of there lol. We'll have to check those out the next time we visit. Harrison Wright Falls was my favorite.
I randomly saw it on a map the night before and had to see what it was about! You could probably make an entire video on just the crevace area, there are a ton of small caves and stuff in that area...Harrison Wright was probably my favorite as well besides Ganoga
Just amazing. Any one of those falls would make a great spot for a lunch break (or my favorite thing, a coffee break). One could take in the falls and the surrounding beauty for an hour. Having so many falls along that trail is almost too much. Great, great trail! Thanks for bringin' it to us.
Yeah it was a waterfall overload that's for sure, that area is just mind boggling when you think how many epic falls are located in a little area, almost wish they could spread them out throughout the state haha, thanks for stopping by Old Dude!
Part 2 was amazing. This makes me so excited because I've got a cabin here for the early fall. I also loved how you showed us that bonus rock area - pretty neat looking.
I actually have a cabin review for Ricketts coming out this week most likely! Had to show that rock area at the end of the hike it was so unique and you could probably make an entire video on just that section of the trail, thanks for stopping by!
@@MaksimOutdoors That's awesome. I remember one we stayed in before had Adirondack chairs on the porch which I loved. I'll have to check out your review to get a preview since it's been a while.
I think either the fall or winter will be the next time I venture back up that way, I would love to do the guided winter tour one of these years. Thanks for stopping by!
I actually have a cabin tour video coming up this week, so funny you mention that lol and yes that trail can be brutal, luckily I stop every two steps to film something lol
It's literally perfection there, postcard scene after postcard scene, I felt like I was hiking through a movie. Thanks for the kind words Debbie and thank you for all the support!
That hike is one crescendo after another!!!! When my head hit the pillow that night after my hike with my son, I kept hearing the crashing of all the waterfalls!!! 👊🏻😀 Great production...thank you.
Thanks Bill for putting a most informative video like this together. My wife and I really enjoyed watching and quickly forwarded the link to my daughter and son as they both are always on the lookout for a new adventure
The Trail from Hell! LOL! I'm doing a 2-night camping trip November 1st-3rd, Should I still avoid doing this trail? Haha! It will be my 1st time at this State Park!
Haha I might’ve been overreacting back then I vaguely remember it being pretty bad but I’ve done worse since then lol. In November it should be better I’m thinking
Eminent domain and civil forfeiture are 2 of the most evil tools used by governments and influential do gooders to advance their wants desires greed and control over regular folks all in the name of the greater good ! I call BS on all of it
First time there and I was just blown out of the water quite literally, it was a day I won't forget especially with that magical weather morning I had, thanks for stopping by!
Nicely done! You’re right about the sounds, it’s intense yet soothing. That section was closed due to a rockslide when we went. We didn’t see anything past B Reynolds Falls so I’m very happy I got to see the ones we missed. Thanks for taking us along.
Yeah it gets pretty intense while going through there, you certainly lose your sense of surroundings not being able to hear anything and all the rock slides had me a bit freaked out lol, thanks for stopping by man!
I do want to come out there and do it myself! This is a super episode and a breath-taking place. The giant, ancient trees and the gloomy light were perfect. The spot with the water splashing all around - you captured the magic! Thanks for sharing!
Awesome footage. I loved all the beautiful shots of the waterfalls, but also appreciated you pointing out the large trees and some of the water that drips through the rock there. Will be checking out part 2 next week. I haven't been here for a few years so enjoyed seeing it again through your video.
I feel like the majority of the folks that film this trail forget just how magical the "other" parts of the trail are like those giant hemlocks and just the work it took make this trail happen, plus the whole history of Mr. Ricketts himself is very interesting, thanks for stopping by!
We did this trail in April a few years ago and there was quite a lot of water flowing then as well. Easily the most challenging and one of the most beautiful trails I have ever done. The warning signs at the start of the trail are no joke.
You captured those falls beautifully Bill!!! Easily my favorite PA State Park. Just can't help but to throw out one superlative after another when hiking the Falls Trail. I hiked the loop with my son, and put out my vid of the trail four years ago! Thanks for another high quality video...👊🏻😀!!!
It's in the top 5 for me easily, I have to sit down and really think out my top ten state parks once again one of these days! And yes you summed it up! So many ways to describe that area, thanks for the kind comments!
You’re right, there’s no possible way a video could do Rickets justice.. but you came pretty darn close. Great job as always!! Looking forward to Part II
