Hey, guys! Thank you so much for stopping by. I make videos based around motherhood, pregnancy and just… life. I hope you’ll stick around in my little corner of the internet!
I admire your courage to speak on your faith and where God is leading you ❤thank you for sharing I’ve literally watched all your vids in one day lol I’m also a new mom and attending estethician school next month! Thank you for your honesty and God bless you
I appreciate this so much. I don’t have children but I absolutely believe you are spot on with your decision. You can always reboot the business, and thank God you have the option to stay home. This is beautiful!
I just commented on your most recent video and am loving these older videos as well! The career change I am considering is actually going to esthetician school! So this is awesome
This totally spoke to me! Not a business owner but I am looking at a career change for the same reasons you listed. I have no kids yet but I hope to see and if that’s the case, then things need to change. My relationship with the Lord and with my family and husband need to be STRENGTHENED! Thanks for sharing, new subscriber!
At first i was scared cause on sunday me my sister and mom are getting this same one but ngl it looks really relaxing and im not that scared cause its my first time getting one😭👍
I feel you Trudy. When I first started Esthetician school, I felt like crap because I didn’t have time for my husband, family or even time to go to Mass. I mean I would go every Sunday, but i would also go during the week. So it took it very hard that i was not going as often. I was too tired to do my prayers at morning and night. To be completely honest, I’m scared to see where I go because I don’t want to lose my faith that I prayed to get back when I reverted. At this time, I do not have kids BUT I do want to have them. Hopefully. So we will see how this journey goes. Still going to be subscribed cause I would like to follow your journey 💜
I completely understand you. Balancing it all can be so hard sometimes. I wish you the best of luck on your journey and I appreciate you sticking around!! 🤍
Just found your channel! I start esthetician school April 10th I’m super excited! 💫🧘♀️🧖🏼♀️ I got the fantastic and sooooo worthwhile experience of getting to be a stay at home mom the last 10 years… it was awesome! Buttttt where my story differs from yours is I had my baby at 40! I’m now a fabulous 50 and really need something for myself at this point… I would never give up the experience of being a stay at home momma for my daughter as it was reallllllly hard going back to work at 25 when I had my first son 😭… Hold on momma you’ve got this and keep that license up to date so when you are ready you can jump back in ❤️🤩 so proud of you for making the family choice!! Especially this day and age where I really felt looked down upon… it will be so worth it 🤗 🙏🏻🙏🏻 I’m going to newberry school of beauty in Granada hills & coming from Valencia so in regards to your first video and traffic I felt that!😱😱😂 So even though I just found you today there’s obviously a purpose… may just have to start my own ‘day in the life of this 50 year old esthetician student…never too late to ✨!’ RU-vid Channel 😉 🤗 And btw I home school too!!!!! 🙏🏻🙏🏻🤩 it’s amazing and my daughter is farther ahead than her former peers from public school… there is a ginormous homeschooling community to help with everything ❤
What an encouraging and uplifting comment! Thank you so much for taking the time to write to me 🥹 yes I am so excited for my journey ahead! And I am soooo proud of you for chasing your dreams! You are absolutely inspiring🤍 I wish you nothing but the best in your journey🫶🏻
Wow I can so relate and I know it was God that led me here. I was blessed to raise my family and divorced almost 8 yrs ago. I’ve had no idea what to do with my life in my 50’s and I came upon aesthetics and I’m loving it and I’m about to go to school but really worried about my age. I have spent time with God on this and pray I’m making the right decision.
@@BarbaraPaschall-i9b literally God woke me in the middle of the night after praying about it.. u just asked for a sign.. and woke up and knew at like 4am.. told my husband that morning and signed up that day for orientation.. you got this hunny 🙏🏻 🥰🤩 now go make ppl sparkle 💆🏼♀️🧖🏼♀️ 🧼 🧴 💦 🌱
proud of you for aligning your life with your values 💕🫶🏽 You are correct , the baby will only be a baby for so long. The last thing you'd wanna do is look back & realize you missed it... whereas your esti knowledge will always be there ❤
Thank you so much for watching!! Hahaha I hope I explained everything well in the video! But I am so excited for you and just know, you’re def in for a wild and fun ride! I wish you all the good things🫶🏻
Thanks soooo much for sharing!! I can so relate in a different way. I’m a SAHM of many many years my oldest is 11 and youngest is 5. I now have time to invest into something Ive always wanted to do. I do go part time so I still get to do all the things. It truly is special when your can stay home and raise the little ones even tho it can sometimes get wild. I have 4 😅 I will continue to be subscribed I am also a believer so can’t wait to see what’s to come. ❤️
@@Verotheestie ugh you’re so kind 😢 thank you so much! & WOW! You’re a superhero! You soooo deserve this time to yourself. I hope you have so much fun. Thank you for being subscribed! I’m about to check out your video as well❤
Thank you soooo much!! Yes this momma has put in her time lol 😂 It has been a challenge balancing it all but it’s all good I’m doing it with Gods guidance. 🥰 Yess thank you so much! ❤️
Great video! I have watched so many videos on this topic, and you have been the most informative and honest about everything. I can completely relate to the social media thing as well... Its definitely a whole other stress for your business.
Thanks for sharing! I was wondering how being solo is working out for you because I’m looking forward to doing the same but I want to make enough to support myself. It would be great if you have any tips.
thank you so much for this video! i am SOOOO happy i found you! i recently finished esthetician school this month and honestly, my school sucked and my teacher wasn't the best or most helpful either.. but it was the most affordable option for me and what worked best for me and my schedule and hey! it worked out bcus I am now a licensed esthetician! lol 🤣 but what you said is true, the schools only prep you for state boards and teach you the basic of the basics and like most beauty industry related journeys, you learn as you GROW! I am currently still working my corporate america job bcus im not financially able to fully dive into my new esti career but i am literally in the same boat as you were, getting ready to set up an at-home studio to get some traction and looking into salon suite options in the very near future bcus same i don't want strangers in my home lol anyways, i say all that to say this -- PLEASE continue to post videos, i love that you are relatable and straight-forward about your journey, we need more people like you! i love your upcoming video ideas, backbar updates, budgeting & expenses, startup FYIs, etc and i can't wait for them to come! ❤❤ THANK YOU!!!!!!
I am a current esthetician student and this is my first time watching one of your videos and you did great. I’m sure you’ve gotten so much better. Can’t wait to watch more of your content and your growth! Best of luck to you hun❤
Commenting to help this video gain traction!!!! I am 15 minutes in and this has been so informational and your tone and attitude is BUILT for videos like this.
Hi girl! I'm an esthetician student in Oregon and will graduate late December of this year and love all of this backbar information, school only teaches you the products they use and seeing more products is amazing! I'm also going to meet up with a hairstylist next week to lease a room once I graduate, any tips? Thank you for doing these videos! You help us out a lot!💕
Hey love!! Thank you so much for watching & I’m so glad my video was helpful!! & the best tip I can give is make sure you sign a contract and go home & read it with someone else to make sure everything looks good. Make sure you’re clear on the amount of access you have to the salon, if you can use washer/dryer, etc. And if the owner is nice and lenient, try to negotiate a cheaper price than whatever they say at first for the first few months while you get your business up and going! My landlord agreed to $200 cheaper the first 3 months and it helped me so much!
This video was so informative, I was really going back and forth between Aveda and another school but the signs were leading more to the other school. Thanks for the confirmation ⭐️
I’m so glad I was able to help you decide! I promise they’re all the same😂 we all have to end up teaching ourselves in the end! Go to the most affordable!
@@ChatsWithTrudy How did you teach yourself everything that you know now? Would you recommend investing in certifications once I have decided what I want to specialize in?
@@lolmn4630 I mainly stuck to podcasts and RU-vid and took really thorough notes for myself in subjects I was interested in and wanted to know a lot more about. For example, I did a BUNCH of research on rosacea, retinols, chemical peels, skin histology, gut health and how it relates to skin, hormones and how they relate to skin & much much more. I just generally picked a specific topic and stuck to it and researched it to death. We kind of know what our weak spots are usually, and I love being the type of person that always has an answer to any question a client might have. So I just RU-vid any and everything I don’t know a lot about. As for certifications, I kind of believe in them and I kind of don’t. I just can’t bring myself to pay such large sums of money for free education I could get on RU-vid/online. But if you feel like your specific clientele will view you as more credible if you have several certifications hung up, I say go for it! If it helps you gain your clients trust, it’s worth it! Sorry for the lengthy reply, hope I could help!
Of course girl! Thanks for watching! & I thrifted it and the tag is worn off… sorry girl :( okay so the drink is double shot blonde espresso shaken with oatmilk, 2 pumps of classic syrup, 2 pumps of vanilla syrup, line cup with caramel & top it off with vanilla sweet cold foam! Lol it’s soooo bomb I promise!
Welcome back Trudy. I’ve been waiting for more videos and I had to look you up on IG & found you. I can’t wait to see more videos. When I signed up for Esthetician school I started looking on RU-vid and your video was one of the first I saw and started to follow your journey (even if I was late lol) I’m finally starting school next week after being on a waitlist for almost a year. Can’t wait to see more videos that can help me :)
Thank you so much for watching, Lauren! I appreciate your support. I’m so excited for you to go on this journey. It’s so rewarding and fun! I have more videos coming very soon, stay tuned love!
whats your strategy about budgeting expenses verses profit? i live with my parents and am just anxious about how that will work out and how long it would take for me to be able to live on my own and run a business, or if thats even realistic or not ❤ i love your videos!
Thank you so much for watching! To be honest, in the beginning, it will take a while to break even in your business and even be at a point where you’re making a profit. I’m still pouring majority of my income back into the business and have barely been able to pay myself anything. I will make videos on this specific topic this month but if I had to give you one advice, it would be to start SLOW. It’s so tempting to go all out and get everything for the business right away but don’t do that. Start super slow and get only the stuff you NEED to start. My next vid will be on what you need in your back bar as a beginner solo esthie so keep an eye out for that so you can save some money.
Hey! Thank you so much for watching. I am coming back with many more videos to help you guys, and I will definitely put this video idea on my list! Best of luck with school!
